ok I purchased a 522 dvr with chip card from milis store a while ago...... box and 103 chip card has been flawless up untill a week or so. I am running romcode. now when I program card and insert into receiver, receiver does not recognize cam: s000000000000000 ect. sounds like this receiver took the latest forced update. now my question is has anyone else bought this receiver and what kind of mod was done? since I didn't do the mod, I don't even know what to look for. any Ideas on how to fix? what I should be looking for? any help is appreciated. thanks sargworld

the latest firmware activated the cardslot. You can jump CR32 pads with a wire and all will work again. It's located at the front of the cardslot so you have to take off the cover and power supply board to get to it. Pretty simple stuff.
good luck
I just did on two days ago. Forget the CR32 shit.
This is what I posted at DJ:
This is what happened to 522s so I assume the 322 is in the same boat after taking the lates update:
1, Check if there card slot switch is tripped (card in there) if yes expect and work only wiht ROM240 cards. If any other than ROM240 is in there display a bunch of annoying errors from 019 to card incompatible.
2, If the slot switch is not tripped it means we are still using the ICAM ROM103 card so allow the use of a ROM103 CAM.
The remedy is to leave your card slot mod as is and solder a wire between the two pins of the card slot switch on the bottom of the board. The IRD will not sense the card inserted and will think it is still using the ICAM.

The 'CR32' shit as you refer is the same as jumping the 2 pins on the bottom of the card slot. The advantage to jumping the 2 pads at CR32 is that you DON'T have to remove the entire board...only the power supply.

thanks I will try this weekend and repost....... any pics would help me greatly as I am a noob when it comes to boxes but always willing to learn in the name of testing

Milli was just offering what is a known working fix but your's is simpler. Thing is I wonder if the other model irds use NO or NC (you know what I mean)?
The Member here said he is a 'noob' when working on irds, I'd suggest he take it to a computer repair shop and have them do the jumper.
(letting someone loose with no knowledge of soldering and a Radio Shaft $12 soldering gun.....OH BOY!)

WTF??? LOL!!!. Mili, that is the CR32 jumper! Or, you can notch your card out so it doesn't trip the sensor at the back of the card slot, but hell, the soldering is easier.
The reason I said forget it because it does not work on my end. The two points on top do NOT correspond bo both points of the switch below. The point on that circular thing does indeed go to one of the legs of the switch but the CR32 shit does not have a direct connection to the other pin. Don't believe me? Take an ohm meter and measure it yourself. I can tell you with authority that it does not work on the 522 I did. I had to pull the board and bridge the two pins under. While it may work for your 522 the way you did it, I can assure you not every 522 will like it. My way is 100% certain. I usually don't offer advice unless I am sure I know what I am saying. Otherwise I put in "I think" or something similar.
Hugs and kisses.

I just did this mod to a 522, but the cardslot was activated on this 522 the old way where you remove one of the chips and run wires to the empty chip pad. Working now by adding the one wire on the CR32 like in the pic so far.

All I can say is that it has worked for me on no less than three 625s and two 522s modded by two different people. The pic that lightning posted is not what I had done. I jumped the two of the pads on CR32. The single one on top and the one on the bottom left. Just make sure you tin the wire first as it's a little tight of course.

Ya I notched the card on some 311's that have the cardslot wired up on as they are in the same boat. Works.
