508 weird problem

If I wont to turn it off I have to push the remote button twice. If I want to bring up the guide I have to push the guide button twice. All functions are that way on the remote. I have reset the receiver several times. Has anyone seen this before?

Sounds like a bad and/or sticky-buttoned remote. Have you tried another remote to see if this still occurs.
