My dilemma, I have a twin dish pro dual lnb connected via switch dp34 to 510 dvr reciever. I can catch either 110 or 119 seperate but not together. I read on forums that i can connect one cable to one lnb and it has a built in switch inside so dont need to run 2 coax from both lnbs to my switch dp34. Anyways tried with or without dp34, connected one or both lnb's to dp34 , moved dish inbetween 110 and 119 signal but no luck. Please tell me how to catch both sats and what coax to connect with my reciever.
Thanks

You dont need the 34 switch unless you are trying to run more than 2 receivers. If you hook it up directly to the LNB and cant get both at once your dish could be on the wrong skew setting. After checking skew:

If 119 shows up in box 2, your dish is aimed too low and too far west.

If 110 shows up in box 1, your dish is aimed too high and too far east.

If you have more than 2 receivers to hook up, you will need the 34 with both leads from the DPtwin LNB hooked to the # 1 & 2 inputs on the switch. Good luck.

To properly aim your dish, make sure your cable is plugged into PORT 1 of your LNB.
If you have a DishPro "Twin" then it will be the port to the left as it faces you.
If you have a DishPro "Dual" as you state above, then that LNB will only see one satellite at a time. You will need two "Dual" LNB's to see 110/119 simultaneously, and they will need to be hooked together via a DP-SW21 (I'm not sure if a DP-SW34 will work).

When asking questions, ALWAYS determine the EXACT model of equipment you are using. "DP" switches are NOT compatible with "Legacy" LNB's and Switches.

Also it is very impoertant that the mast be plumb, just as straight as you can get it, if not hitting both sats will be difficult or impossible.

Thumbs up to Skinerd for making that comment.

A good clue that you don't have a "plumb" mast is if you hit 129 VERY easily, but 119 and 110 are difficult to hit. This can also hint you that you haven't set your skew correctly. 129 should be DIFFICULT to hit if your TWIN LNB and dish are correctly set up and your mast is plumb.

A carpenter's level is an invaluable tool when installing a dish!

Also note that the settings given in the 'peak angles' page in setup are only a guide, usually real close, but some tweaking is often needed. Mine called for 52 degree elevation, I had to go to 56 degress to get a good signal on both 110 and 119. I was having a hard time until I set a TV up outside at dusk so I could see results of what I was doing.
I was getting 119 and 129, so I knew I was too far west, but moving east I lost everything until I upped the elevation a bit.

Lookup your tsop firmware version on your receiver, If you are to far out of date it can cause this too.

Thanks guys. It was the skew. It was set at 85 and i needed 112 per my zip. Way off!! After i aimed at 119 it all came in together.
