You're not supplying much info, who's your Provider and what's the CAM, are you subbed, testing. Just entering the above isn't enough.

Im using a 102 exsub with a 510 receiver and Mauh blocker, I've been using it for about 3 years with no problems and in the last couple of days it started with "your smartcard is about to expire" but now it says the card has expired. Tiers are fine, so i'm not sure why it's happened and have not seen anyone else with this problem
Thanks

Besides tiers, have you opened your image up in ROMExplorer/ROMEdit and looked at the CARD expiration dates in the DATA SPACE TAB look at IRD INFO and the SPENDING LIMITS for the date. Sometimes when you get Expired card, it's not the tiers, it's these dates.

I've made that mistake before, so it was the first thing I checked this time. I even made the tier dates further away cause I was running out of options.
Thanks Wileyx

Do a hard reset of the IRD you know the vital memory dump and all should be fine after that.

corrupt TSOP and re-download it fix the problem also? not sure, may need to go to an older TSOP too.. anyway, if its not the card it must be the IRD :P

I have the same problem..!! "SmartCard Expired"...!
How did you do the virtual memory dump..?
Does the IRD has to JTAGed to a virgin EEPROM OR can it also be done by pressing a few keys(code) on the remote..?

It's the IRD reset option Menu, 6, 3, info, etc. You have done this before right?

If you are seeing this the fix is simple, All you need to do is read the tsop save it then open it in flashedit fix crc and create a virgin eeprom image. Then all you need to do is load the eeprom image back to the ird.
Fix every one for me no problems since.

To reset the IRD, choose Menu, System Setup, Diagnostics, info, then right arrow>, left arrow< which will put you in the Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) screen. Then choose TV/Video button and you will get a warning that the NVM memory will be corrupt and you must restart the IRD by turning it off and unplugging for a couple of minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on to resume reception after resetting.

That worked on 1 of my 510's, the other one I had to redo the tiers on the card, hope this helps
The NVM did nothing for me either. I had 3 receiver. 2-301 and a 322 that I fixed them by writing a new vrigin eeprom to the receiver. This error writes something to the eeprom in the receiver so when the receiver boots up and sees it, it goes right to that error. You need to write a new virgin eeprom to the receiver to fix it. The NVM might fix some receivers, but not all. It did not help me at all. Messing with the cam image will do nothing either.

Hi
I have 322 ird and it is doing this thing for me too "your smartcard is about to expire", just waiting how long will it be before it will expire... I looked at my IRD exp. dates, and tiers dates, all look good. So now I'm thinking I need to do something else to it. I've tryied to reset the IRD by going to Menu, System Setup, Diagnostics, then right arrow, left arrow, and nothing is happening. I don't know if I can do that on 322's ?
Guess I have never done that before, so I don't know how to do it...
How is it done ? Help me out ?
Thanx

Once it goes out and errors to 989 card expired the eeprom must be redone. The nonvolital mem dump via remote doesn't clear it out anymore.

I unpluged it last night and now i'm using 301 instead. So, there is a way to write to my 322 ?
