508 IRD dish pro

I acquired a d!sh 1000 but it did not have the lnb for the 129 sat. i have a few legacy singles laying around hooked it up to the lnb in on the DPP but it will not recognize that the 129 sate is there.

Can a legacy lnb be used with the DPP?

i selected aleternate and superdish in the menu like the "help' stated when using legacy equipment.

just wondering
thanks

I am pretty sure that DishPro Plus is only compatible with DishPro Plus...you can't even hook a DishPro into that 3rd port and have it work. I could be wrong though...

A dish pro will work. Legacy will not.

My bad, I just looked at the DishPro Plus manual and yes, DishPro LNB's can be plugged into a DPP LNB- but not Legacy ones.

Thanks for the catch!

Maybe the new HD ones. Up thru the ultra model they can not control a DP Plus.

I know the DP Plus LNB's require much more power (current) than regular DishPro LNB's (that is why if you will be using Legacy receivers, you need a DishPro receiver to provide the power for the LNB).

Some FTA receivers don't have enough "juice" to power DishPro Plus LNB's.
