Sorry if this is the wrong place for this but I was wondering if anybody could tell me if the max/mel board sold here works well with both a 6000 ird and a 2700. Also is it relatively safe to buy from this site.

Again sorry if this is the wrong place for this question but I had no idea where else to ask it.

Yes, it will work with both...be aware that the 6000 is an MPEG-2 HD receiver and most (if not all) of DN HD has switched to MPEG-4. You can still receive SD channels with the 6000, but not any HD content.

And Mili sells good quality items and stands behind them. It may take a little longer to get your stuff (he is off shore in the Bahamas), but the fact that he is off-shore is a good thing.

I thought with the 8psk module the 6000 would get hd. Is that not true?

Not True
The 6000 is a mpeg 2 receiver, you need an mpeg 4 to get HD with Dish.

Biggest thing with 6000 was the antiAVR code.. keeping the Max/Mel SMT meant that you could run it at 3V3 instead of the nominal 5V0 that most DIP ICs run at... this bypassed the antiAVR :) The store is great, you get what you pay for and it works...

Well that sucks about the 6000 not getting mpeg4 even with the module. I definately screwed that up. Does anyone have a recommended B$V or D$$H receiver model that would get mpeg 4 and yet still be usable on emu?

I just got my milli maxmel. Am I mistake or didn't milli used to sell a atmel programmer. I couldn't find one now. Is it just easier to make one or can someone reccommend a good cheap programmer.

Thanks

They can be made pretty cheaply. Just a few resistors, a project board, and a db25 connector. If you have an old loader or unlooper around, many of them can be used to flash an atmel.

Thanks Scoobydoo, I might as well make one. I think I also have a t911 around somewhere. Will that work.

Yes a t911 will work for flashing atmel 2313 chips

Only if the t911 has a socketed atmel chip and the atmel you need to flash is dip style. Atmel chip programmers are so basic you may as well make one unless your t911 fits the above description.
