Comcast Cable Internet Hack?????????

I have a friend who has Cable TV that he receives with out subbing, he is hooked up and they have been unaware for a couple of years now.

He had Cable TV and Cable Internet through the "Insight" Cable provider and they switched to Comcast for the Internet service provider.

When he attempts to log on to Internet he receives a request from Comcast to enter his account number and password.

IE says he is connected to the internet but the Comcast log on screen to activate new account comes up.

Is their a way to spoof this or bypass this or hack into this., I saw on another site that this could be achieved by obtaining MAC address of a legit sub and then modifying this address on his network card or modem for example if MAC Address on legit sub is 000000001 then change to or? add 000000002 to the MAC Address!

Anyone know if this will work? If this will not work are there any ideas how to do this?

Don't use Comcast dns servers, if you point to another dns, it should bypass the wlecome screen.

When it said that is because the acct on that modem has expired.

go into the windows setup for internet connects and change DNS server to 4.2.2.2.
That will get rid of the Comcast page and you are good to go.

I would think that the cable needs to be at least connected to the service.
dont know about the basic sub part.

I tried pointing to a different DNS, I entered 4.2.2.2, and then I could not connect at all. The computer is using Vista operatin sys that I am helping my fried with. I changed the dns in the properties of the "broadband connection" (which is comcast) WINS area.

Any additional ideas would be helpful.

I downloaded the Hacking The Cable Company file and am working my way through it, interesting information indeed!

If the modem isn't modded than there is no way you would get the internet access even with this verizon 4.2.2.1 dns! You need to mod the modem first.

WAAAIIITTTTT!!! I just plugged in my old comcast modem, set my dns for 4.2.21 and got past the comcast page, and it is NOT MODDED?!?! Tell my how that works!? I'm confused?

Curious ? Do U have internet access with CC ? Because if u do ,that is why u didn't need a modded Modem .

Thanks friend .I do recall I use to take the card from my Receiver and use it on another receiver but at a different location and get to watch TV .So maybe that is why the Modem still works .It comes from a active Acc .But it is Good to know Friend TY .:)

But see this modem HAS been disabled it is NOT linked to an active account.

Hi guys. I just heard a friend of mine saying that he can program a modem to get free internet from Comcast, and that the only thing I need to do is to get a minimun subcription from comcast and he does the rest to get free internet. I am wondering if I can get some help on how to get started to do this. Can anyone guide me or give me some links on how to do it? thanks, I would appreciated a lot.
