i put a tool bar on my computor called fta toolbar;,, was silent for two months ; then computor locked up. i had it fix. it had spyware,viruses not detected by the people who fixed my computor. so thay did not detect the fta tool bar as the problem.as soon as i went on line this tool bar loaded five spywares in 4 secs. i deleted the fta program and cleared the spyware and the virus. then went back on line and checked the viruses and spyware and was clean as a whistle! and clean for two days now !

While post was really related to your PC, I moved it here. I realize your problem was somewhat related to FTA, but even this Forum does cover the subject 100%.

Glad to see you were able to fix the problem and get your PC operational. Perhaps others can learn from the experience. Information is good to share with this type of experience.

Now you've learned not to indiscriminately load any shit on that promises something. I can only guess the come on was what, it would run in the background and alert you of FTA updates?

There are various trusted sites that you can check everyday. There is so much malware going around. Do something useful and load McAfee Site Advisor (free version) to reside in your toolbar. It will save you some headaches if you remain that impulsive.
