everything i see for cracking weps is linux which i know nothing about
wonder if any software is out there for windows or a way to use linux from a bootable disk to do this .. any info on this would be wonderful

Birdie has some experience with this. If you don't get any good replies ya might want to shoot him a PM. I'd C/P the PM he sent me on the matter but I don't want to make a private PM public even though it isn't especially private info discussed. It can be done. Supposedly the build your own antenna projects result in a much better antenna than most that come with commercial installations too.

About six or seven months ago someone asked the same question and it was answered. Can't remember but the software in question was linked to the make of the router. Sorry that's all I can tell you.

I have hacked wep using the tutorial on youtube.com made by babolatace . It shows how to use commview and aircrack to crack it. I have done his WEP successfully. I haven't tried his WPA but I am shure it will work also. Change the xx's to tt's

Thanks Fellas for all the feedback. I think I got it now I need to find me a compatible usb wireless card. The one I have has a Realtek RTL8187 wireless chipset and I don't think it's compatible.

Let me give you a little secret for commview. Once you find the hacked version you have to load the driver that is included in the file once it is unzipped in the driver folder. You replace your netork driver you have with the network driver it supplies. If your chipset is compatible you will know it then if it accepts the driver and then works. If not it wont accept the driver normally. The guy I told you about shows how to do that in one of his tutorials. Has to be done to get commview to work. I am running a dwl-g630 d link pcmia card it works so if you don't know what card that one works for commview and their cheap of flea bay.

I have a different card in my tower and a wifi antenna I made out of a old dave dish and a ravolli can it pulls like 4 football fields away got it mounted on a very nice tripod. I won't ever pay for internet got like 10 I can connect to and thats nice for iks if you know what I mean.

I have something similar I made outta one of those 3 tier hanging baskets and a usb wireless card I get about three block range not quite as cool as the dishtenna or anywhere near the range. setup like that kinda makes IKS look like a good idea hmmmmmmm

To answer your question I aint mili living in the Bahama's but I am living the life in Florida in my airstream trying to keep my ass warm. I will take some pics and post them when I get home. I snow bird in Fl. Be home in 4 weeks and post some.

yep that realtek card works I have tried it with aircrack for wep now wpa that is a whole other animal lol dictionary attack could take years lmao!
