ViP receiver modification services are now available

We are now offering IRD modification services for BGA TSOP receivers of the following models
322, 522, 625, 721, 921, 942, 3200, 5200, 9200, ViP222, ViP622, ViP612, ViP9242, 111, 311, 811, 4100, 6100, ViP211, ViP411 and ViP722.
Will replace the BGA Flash chip with one programmed with private numbers so you can use them with Slingers for example. Also can change provider from Dish to Bell on 322, 3200, 5200, 522, 625, 6100, VIP622, 811, 9200, 942, VIP9242 models.

The prices include the cost of shipping the receiver back to you. Only Canadian and US delivery for now.
For all IRDs EXCEPT the $722 (http://www.dssftp.com/xcart/product.php?productid=162) the cost is $124 for Canadian and $144 for US customers,
for the ViP722s (http://www.dssftp.com/xcart/product.php?productid=163) it is $144 for Canadian and $169 for US customers.

Mili, VIP receivers have the capability where only one needs to be connected to the phone or internet. This receiver automatically communicate with the other VIP receivers in the house, so eliminates having to connect the rest of them to call home.

So my question is can they do anything to stop this with a mod, as people who have legal subs also will get busted.

I think he means can the dishcomm in the modded box "talk" to the subbed boxes in your house. I would not enable that on any of my ird's if I were in that situation.

Ah I get it now. No of course you don't hook up any receiver in any way you hacked with to any connection.
Yes it works with Armulators if they have spoof ROM240 support.

Yes exactly. The people who use the Slingers are on the N3 stream already and it is working. Please read the Slinger FAQ and Instructions pages. The 722s must NOT be 722k receivers though. Those are useless.

Can a VIP receiver TSOP be modded to run a private DT08 if I supply the IRD# and BKs that match my working card bin? I would assume they would mod just like a 5XX receiver, but not sure. Thanks for any help.

I tried it with my Armulator with the 241 (DN) spoof and it didn't work. Got " com error 122".

Nothing other than a slinger on N3 soon. No N3 hack for anything else so Atmega will be finished.

No problem with hose two IRDs. Once the Slinger people finish the server side upgrades they will tackle the ViP bootup issue and your receivers will work with the Singers. No existing emulator boards will keep working.

Hi Mili, I got a 211 and I did the mistake that tried with satellite hook up and now there is a message that is downloading info but not working that all, if I send it for BGA replacement it is possible to make it work with the Slinger?

It's skinerd and I don't believe he has tackled one of these yet. It will take a hell of a lot more than "the right howto" to do these receivers.

Buy a flash BGA programmer with the needed adapter for about $1,000
Find a replacement blank chip (discontinued)
Program the chip with some private flash (unavailable to the public)
Remove the original chip (easy)
Clean the BGA pads on the motherboard (need solder wick and hot iron and flux and you will still pull traces off I guaran fucking tee it unless you are very very very good at this shit)
Place new chip exactly in place, use lotsa flux and heat the chip up without buring the mobo to a crisp.
Chances of success if you are not an EXPERT in BGA work. I am nto talking about expert in soldering here but being an expert in BGA work, you got a 50-50 chance the IRD will boot.

A breeze really. I got so mad killing two 211s I will never stress myself out with this shit again. (I got two chips pre-programmed as a present so I got no programmer either)

I know Hindi channels are fine on Dish and Chinese on Bell. I don't have a 61.5 or 118 dish so I can't test what else there night be.

mili, i have a vip622. a couple of years ago you had that service for a sub for dish and that guy got caught on camera who worked for dish adding subs. well we all got hosed because dish got all of our ird numbers and our vip622 got black listed and were turned into door stops. well i still have it and was wondering even though it got black listed will i be able to use it?
one other question. if it turns out that it can work with the slinger, i'll barter with you. i had to purchase another vip622 and had a sub on that one. i will ship both vip622's to you and if you will mod one of them for me and throw in the slinger and ship one back we will call it even. i also have the original boxes they came in. thanks, anozira

That was a bad deal for those using the discounted sub subscription service. You can't deny anozira that. And mili doesn't do PM's. Got to email him at mili@dssftp.com with these issues. The give me a slinger in return for an equipment exchange and we'll call it even must be in jest. At least that's what it sounds like even if that's not how it was intended.;) I bet if the guy did the math he didn't come out too bad on the deal even if it didn't work out as long as everyone thought it would.

A 612 is a single-tuner HD DVR IRD. The 722(k) is a dual-tuner HD DVR IRD.

Not a bad trade sells a 622 for $599 gets a slinger for $219 and a mod for $124

The 622 is $599 and has the mod done already in case you got problem reading. If you add a Slinger to it at checkout the Slinger is on $199 extra. If you can't afford it don't buy it but spare me the remark.

A 612 is a single-tuner HD DVR IRD. The 722(k) is a dual-tuner HD DVR IRD.

Each of these has two tuners. Only the 722 can be used for a two room setup though.
