They Slinger people released version 1.06

It now supports Dishnetwork. They also are serving Dish keys for a Silver package at 100-00113 password 123456789
Their engineer said DTV is next.

They claim it is going to be free, for now. I dont know how long they can keep it free. I would not be opposed to a small yearly charge or even if others set up there own private share and offer yearly private share subscription. All better than paying $100 + each month for your own sub.

Wow, so now they claim they will be able to do the same for DTV boxes, can't wait to hear the details on that.
Mili, now that you are selling the slingers, how about a "how to" on the safest way to IKS. Also have a question on the VIP 622.
I have a blacklisted VIP 622 that hasn't been used since the "piggy-back sub" fiasco that occurred some time ago. What would I have to do to get it up and running with the slinger?

There is a FAQ and a bunch of How Tos already please look in my signature and to the links above on every page here. You need to send your ViP to get modded (I offer that service look on top and in the store) then just set up a Slinger client.

Anyone have a Slinger working on anything other than a 2700 or a 3100, I would love to hear from you. So far these are the only two rec. I can get to work and hear no talk of anyone running on any other {5800, 510, 501, 6100, 9200}. I would not mod my rec. untill I know the Slinger will work on it. I have tested on other rec. with very poor results so far. 2700 and 3100, no problem.

hello so they are saying that .we can you a slinger with out a sub card. and use a 102 card .that married to the ird .and with no blocker on it .any feed back would be nice to know. thanks

No card needed for Slinger, only 102 bin. Unless you are going to use as server, then you need a subed 240/241 card.

You should read some before you ask a question....Yes, a Slinger for each receiver...no the slinger replaces the smartcard (unless you are serving to your own network).

My computer does not reconize my new slinger when I hook it up to the USB port. Also I was wondering if any LED lights are suppose to light up when I plug in the 9 Volt power supply. I have no lights working. Any help would be appreciated. Ron :D
Did you install the drivers? No lights until you finish programming it. Follow the instructions please.

Mili I have installed the drivers . When I hook up my USB Atmega card - it says ''new hardware found'' - But when I hook up the 9 volt power supply and the USB cable to the Slinger I don't get the '' found new hardware'' my computer does not detect this USB device , could this be a defective Slinger,
No you can't use a splitter.
Please just program the Slinger, follow the instructions. Make sure you use the 1.08 software.

Mili - I have installed the Drivers - I have hooked up the 9 volt power supply - I have tried hooking the USB cable to three different ports on my computer. The instrutions say your operating system will detect the slinger. My computer has no problem detecting other USB devices that I have tried in these ports but it will not detect the slinger that you sent me. Should I send this one back for a replacement ? Ron

if you have already installed the drivers computer won't prompt you for new hardware found since there are already installed in your computer have you tried to run slingers software and click test slinger button?

Yes you will be able to as soon as they worked out the compatibility issues with ViPs.

It has been up for more than two months. It is on N3 already so the swap wont affect it.

I was looking at the Slinger FAQ and noticed some worry about the privacy issue via IKS. Well how about using a Proxy Server? The free ones are usually slow but for a few bucks a month sub. to a private server.
My second thought, well a year ago this certain H.K. based site was buying P5 cards (can't remember the deal, would give you an atmega?) and then everyone jumped to the conclusion that Dave was compromised!
Well, that's not true but said same site offered this black box, so whadyathink?
Dave keys are just around the corner, Mili better order more before the price goes UP!!!

Hey Ron777, my computer would not detect the slinger either so I tried a 12 v power supply and it detected slinger right away. Hope that can help you.

Was curious if someone could spend the time to develop a peer to peer, torrent type of IKS system... anyone that watches PPV or PORN, etc.. would through the network register with a super node that these channels were available. The other receivers in the network would find the content/'control words and get the service... the key concern with PPV and PORN IKS from a central server is the suspicion that it brings with that sub ordering all that content... this should make the orders more discrete if they are spread across a network of millions of recvers...

If you are having trouble with getting your Slinger to fire up, remember that the three most high failure computer items are wall warts (power supplies), USB cables, and Ethernet cables...

Mili - Ordered two more from your store yesterday. I bought one of these from a police evidence auction a few weeks ago. Didn't know (and neither did the evidence guys) what it was, just was seized from some dope lab bust with a bunch of other computers and scanners.
I paid $200 for three computers, 2 scanners, an ISO programmer ( I recognized that) some other DN stuff and a box full of cables, cards, and the slinger. No idea why they let the extra cards go, I guess they didn't know what they were, or thought they were valueless (I sure wasn't going to tell them).
