Das blinking Green light....

I got the slinger really fast, thanks milli.
No matter what i try i can not get it to go past red at power on, orange, then a few orange blinks, back to orange, then goes to blinking green.
Programmed with v1.08, static IP
setup the port etc..
I have an older linksys BEFSR41 gateway setup that has never ever given any problems for me. A cable modem , motorola from the cable co.
In the gateway logs i see this
Outgoing --> 192.168.1.20 xxx.xxx.242.80 HTTP
incoming
xxx.xxx.242.80 X0561
xxx.xxx.242.80 X0558
slinger is set to port X0218

I'm sure the SI in Colorado is having a field day writing down these IP addresses that users are providing...they don't even have to serve ISPs...just visit DSSFTP and look for Slinger nitwits.

FYI - The instructions lead you to believe that you should get solid green before attaching the card but that's incorrect. Insert phone cable into phone jack and put the slinger interface card into receiver first. You will then get a solid green light.

I spent over an hour changing out modems, routers, cables, etc.. trying to get a steady green and the problem was not having the card in the reciever.

on network settings where it"automatic" hit the read button first ,that will give you the Gateway MAC #.It will not be in bold type but a number will be there now hit write.DO this read first then write sequence all the way through the program.Gateways screw us evertime.
