To my understanding the slinger iks sharing right now is based on rom 102-103 hacks. Which is why you have to load the card bin onto your slinger. What happens when all goes black? The iks slinger is using public information and private but also work on 102-103 hacks. When the g3 is implemented you will need a G3 bin and private information. Any G3 shared SUB, CAM ID, BOXKEYS information will surely get shut down. The only way i see slinger working after the switch is in the private setup. Split a sub with 10 friends and share one card. That is if everyone has a slinger.

Without being able to write to the host subbed card with a cam blocker, the host will eventually be shut down, with out a doubt... Splitting a sub with friends will be the only way to get by without being targeted with a law suite and getting shut down...

man after read all this info about Slinger and the rest I am more confused now then I have ever been about any electronic hardware. I just want to know what I need to be able to watch any of the channels on my Dishnetwork without having to pay Dish for watching them. I currently have a new setup as of Feb 2009. I have 1 DVR625 and 1 basic receiver (322) but I only care about the DVR 625. If anyone knows can you tell me or give me some helpful advice on what I need to do this with my existing equipment without having to buy a new receiver. I want to continue to pay for the basic pacakage if that helps from what I understand. please either email me here or to my email address XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
You guys got it wrong. The Slinger will work and ther eis no need or even possibility for a G3 BIN.

Please explain how the slinger will work without a g3 bin once the switch to n3 is made.

Apparently the Slinger is currently working with Bev and that is 100% N3 right now. When Charlie switches over, he will be using the same stream as Bev is currently using.
What makes YOU think there is a difference between Bev N3 and U.S. N3?????

OK, here's the (L)owest (C)ommon (D)enominator how it works scenario. At the head end, receivers and new three type cards are unencrypting the signals. The magic key is then sent down the pipe to you.
Your old version two only sees these and does it's thing to give you A/V. It's like tossing a red frisbee to your dog, he or she goes after it and returns it to you. Next day you get a new green frishbee and the dog does the same thing.
It's round, it floats and dodges and weaves but it's still a frishbee, on account that dogs are color blind.
Get it now?

The slinger does NOT EMULATE THE N3 DECRYPTION PROCESS!!!!!
Don't know how many times this has to be said.....
It's like cutting in line at the store... if you have already rung up your groceries yourself and know EXACTLY how much to pay (CONTROL WORD) then you can skip the cashier (VALIDATION CHECK) and proceed right to walking out the door (AUTHORIZE CHANNEL AND WATCH TV).
Next time I will get out the legos and licoln logs...some people just can't read around here....or maybe they don't bother and just throw questions out...? Naw.....
