Hi, just want to know if anyone have setup a private server on the slinger..
I'm think I'm ready, I got the sub receiver two different internet provider and two d-link router on my house,
this way I can test here at my house without running like crazy back to my friend house to check.
Anyway I have done the setup, the server side boot fine,, but the client side don't seen to
communicate with the server, it just stay on orange,,
I'm using 301 public info for client..
also if I use any of the slinger to get the public Iks channel they both work.
I just can't set then up for private server.
If anyone have done it could you please make a step by step guide please,,
thanks,,
:)

If your talking about taking 1 slinger and sharing it with your buddies this is how I am going to try it. Learn and actually do RQCS you can learn how here:
h++p://rqcamd.doesntexist.com/forums
RQCS works with Max Mels or Old AVRs and some other stuff. I use maxmel so thats what I will talk about. Flash your 2313 with flashes provided on the site above their is one for N2 and G3. I recommend you do the N2 first and make sure you no how to do it before stream dies. RQCS has simply put 2 separate programs running one is the server side with an ISO reader/loader known as RQCS where sub'd card goes and the Client side which is where you use your max mel to give commands to receiver. Their are configuration (.conf) files that allows you to choose your ports com1,com2etc and your ip your using, password, encryption etc. They have a how-to at the site above makes it a lot easier. I first used same computer with 2 com ports to learn then did it wirelessly between computers. Now you have done this then here is what I recommend you try.
Get your slinger working with bev or charlie. Now its working pull the card that goes with slinger out put it into the iso reader restart your slinger then start RQCS then start your RQCS client and slip maxmel into receiver or receivers.
If that doesn't work I am going to leave slinger card in receiver and on back of my reciever I have a db9 with the contacts to card pads I will make a boot card to slip into iso reader and start RQCS then start RQCS client then slip in max mel.
If thats over your head just ignore it but it may help someone else.

You might try it with 1 router for slinger to connect with china and the same one for client if it works (even if it doesn't work) the problem is within your router might need a the same stationairy IP configured on all routers being used and possibly the same ip registered on all computers being use as a stationairy IP that is used to connect them. I would try a stationairy IP on router first then if I had to try same stationairy IP on computers. Just an idea.
IP address will have to be configured by signing into the router like you go to a web page you will need to pull the manual for that router to find out what address to use to sign into router and how to change the IP and make it stationairy. You make the IP of computer stationairy under network connections go to help and it will show you how.
If memory serves me correct you can even choose which IPs can connect to router in that case you might put the IP from the other router even if it is the same and the 2 IPs you choose for your computers your using.
These are some ideas.
