Part of this how to is mine & part is from a member at CC.
I got my slinger up today by following this how to. I made a few
modifications of the origional. good luck and i hope this helps.
First, if you haven't already done so, use jkeys and write a TSOP with public numbers to your IRD.
If you have a reciever with public info just use the eeprom supplied in the slinger "dump" folder in IKSlingerVersion1.08.
Make sure your firmware is up to date. Although my Slinger works fine in a 301-010 at P392.
Connect USB to your Slinger, then connect to power.
Start slinger's application.
Click on "APPLICATION" tab and click on "Test Slinger". Wait until it says everything is OK.
Down below, in application, choose "Client", Bell or Dish, your IRD type. Now click on "LOAD SLINGER". Wait until it is done.
Click on"NETWORK CONFIGURATION" tab. In LAN box choose "Automatic"and click on "write" (next to it). Leave "Static IP Config" as is. Go over to "Port config" and click on down arrow in destination port and click on "1" (even if it already shows "1"). In the box next to it, showed 20028 on mine. Click on "write" (below it).
Leave "Proxy config" as is.
Click on "IKS CHANNELS" tab. Doubleclick on "Scan Channels", or try clicking once, wait a second and click on it again. In the window above, you will see two options. Dish or Bell. Choose what you have set your IRD for in the "APPLICATION" tab.
Clich on "add"
then
Click on "write".
Now click on "BIN EDITOR". Click on "Load Bin" and point to slinger's folder, in subfolder "Dumps" and choose what your IRD is set for (Bell or Dish). Wait for bin to load and then click on "write" (not "Save"). On the right side of the pane you should see the public CAM#, IRD#, and BoxKey#.
You are done!
Disconnect USB from Slinger and then the power. Connect to router and power up slinger. It should be able to communicate with the server now. If your slinger has all three color lights (mine has green only) it should blink orange meaning it has communicated with server. Now connect waffer to it and insert waffer into IRD. At first it will probably say that card is not inserted correctly. Leave waffer in IRD, just disconnect and reconnect power in slinger. Just wait a few seconds, and your tv screen will change to "Acquiring signal". If not, just power cycle the slinger again.
This is what I did and got the slinger working with my wrt54g and cable broadband.
This has been tested with a Belkin N Router with a Westell 6000 modem on AT&T DSL.
