I have one 301-010 and three 301-013s that were subbed about three or four years ago. I unsubbed them when I left the country and put them on the shelf, where they have remained.

What, if anything, do I need to do to the IRD to ready it for a Slinger?

I understand I need to read the CAM and (of course) make sure that the CAM is properly married to the IRD in question, (which it should be already) and not get them mixed up.

Anything else basically that I need to do to get started/ready for my Slingers to arrive (thanks, Mili!)??

The networking side of things is not an issue for me. (Baghdad has Internet, now!)

Remember, that besides traffic shaping, some ISPs block many common (and UNCOMMON) ports out of habit. Ping testing and telnet can tell you a lot about what is going on with your ISP.

Welcome back and thanks for your service.

Just make sure you update those receivers to the latest firmware and have a copy of the unlocked/dumped ROM102 image that is married to them (or just flash the public TSOP image to the receivers and stay public).

thats it
a copy of the cam saved to a bn102 file
update the ird to latest firmware.
load the new slinger software and then load the cam image using the new slinger software.
put the cam in a drawer and plug slinger up after you network it.
