The new public IKS server is up and running. Please aim your slingers at the new server coordinates by editing your "settings" file:

Please note that this new server automatically powers down for 2 minutes every day at 4am Eastern (1am Pacific) and the whole IKS system resets itself. That should be the only freezing you see.

A few on CC have got their slinger up on dik & b3v.
I got mine up on dik public, worked about 3 minutes & then solid orange lite.
I think it's the servers, just speculation.
The reason i think that is i loaded my slinger humpteen times same way
then bingo green lite & tv for 3 minutes.
I'm beginning to wonder about this b*t*h lol

Yeah.. something's weird. I got mine working on BEV, no freeze! BUT.... not all channels come in for me. And many only audio.

It started well, most of them working. Then these same channels stopped working or went only audio...
I don't think it's my setup as they worked at first. So I'm waiting.

For example #500 (CNN) always work well, (1.08/1.09) so I go there to cheer up! LOL But really... needs improvement.

I got some freezing on some channels but it's watchable. Watching the sport network in french for 45 minutes, nothing freeze.

for me 1.09 still hasn't work.

I put new server info and the led stays solid orange. It doesn't happen when I put the old server info, but the old server also gives orange after a few seconds of video.

So for me is no go yet. I just hope the slinger finally get better cause it's an expensive testing toy.

I finally got V1.09 working with a dp501 & a 3900, both F/W up to date.
No freezing at all on either receiver. new serverid pasted in the text file.
The IKS channel scan dosen't populate but you can manually input the info
then write.

PS:You might try pressing the re-set button on the left side of the slinger
with a pen to get a green lite, maybe 5 or 3 times.

It took me 6 or 8 tries to get a green light. Once I did though it worked well. Left slinger on overnight. It was working when I left it and was still working when I got up! 2 minifreezes in 15 mins. Not perfect but watchable if it doesn't get worse with more sales of slingers.

At this point I'm wondering about the channel line-up. Why are all of the showtimes and Starz and some of the HBO channels not active? Will there be any East or West ABC CBS NBC FOX channels?

Heck, I pay for a sub and can't boast about working 100% with no downtime.

This is called TESTING. If you are here for free TV, think about your situation....

A legit sub costs about $600/year (with all of the incentatives they are offering).

To "test" costs usually just as much (if not more)...so nothing is really "free".

It ALWAYS amuses me when people talk about the newest and latest gadget and then someone else comes along and demands 100% uptime from the gadget.

It's working for me now.. the mistake i was making was using 100-00013 instead of 100-00113.
One things i noticed about the port is best if u read the ports and see what is hardcoded on slinger and then use one of them. also, i used 1.08 version with new server id. i still see some freezing - this could be my bandwidth DSL Connect Rate (Down/Up) 864 KBits/Sec by 160 KBits/Sec.

I am not pleased at this time with my slinger and it`s a pain trying to watch a hockey game freezing every 30 seconds.
I hope they`ll find a solution for this.

I think you lost Wiley's point.

I think he means that this is a hobby and you bought experimental equipment. If you can't live without TV, then you should find someone on the U.S. to "shell" a sub for you.

When something in this realm comes out, it always has bugs. Hopefully all of the current bugs can be worked out through software updates.

I'm getting a lot more freezing at this time 9:10 CST better performance than 1.08 but still nothing that will work with a PVR since you will need to reboot your IRD as soon as the slinger get frozen for good that happens at any moment and you need to restart the Slinger

2. what about the setting in the setting file., are you guys copyting the file from 108 to 109 and deleting the file in 109.??

I have to moderate my previous post (#25) , I had problems with my internet connections , it works with Slinger 1.09 on B3V. It is freezing though but not as much as I said before (123 RDS french channel at least).
I think the Slinger can become a better testing tool , with maybe a better software , and maybe a private subscribtion sharing among friends. I am optimistic it will become better and I do not regret my purchase so far.

Freezing is mostly gone already and will be totally gone by the weekend I am told. That of course does not mean people with problem connections and ISPs or routers dropping packets wont have any more problems still.

Oh yea, lots o peeps talking smack about the slinger, but it be working very nice here. Lots of freezing before, just kept it going at first to see the progress with the freezing 'cause you couldn't watch tv on it, at least not for long. Try watching comedy on it, miss the punch line every time. I was exclusively running st19 and jumping back to the slinger.

Now I exclusively use the slinger for my tv and st19 just collects dust for a change. Very little freezing and just for a split second and video is back. I learned alot about my network and router as well as setting up a wireless bridge to my slinger. This thing works great wireless! Still lovin my slinger! Well worth the money. I guess I will be the first to say: Thanks mili.

The dropping packets part will be fixed, the lying will be fixed by me banning their asses (the 4 zero post wonders who reported severe freezing so far ignore my requests for order number or MAC addresses of their Slingers and will be banned tomorrow) and receiver problems can be isolated by trying another IRD with a public TSOP on it.

Mili I still think that if you get Video the issue with the STOP if the firmware is the current one should not be a problem, But I will wait until this weekend and try to reflash my 301.013 (need to remember the how-to) with the proper TSOP for public numbers to make the finnal trial, one question can someone send me a link where to get the proper TSOP for a single chip 301 that I can be sure is going to work with the public DN bin included in the software package of the slinger?

I got three 301.013's but I can't send you the tsop 'cause they're in the closet collecting dust. I switched to the easier 301.010's 'cause they don't need the vidmod. Quite frankly, I just didn't have much luck with the .013's. Kind of a pain compared to the .010's. I did the vidmod and used them for a while until I got my first .010. Haven't streamed them in years. I really can't see any advantage of running a 301.013 as apposed to the 301.010. IMHO, the .010 is much easier to test with.

I received my slinger today programmed it with a rom102 bin that is married to my 510 IRD with private numbers. The slinger is working great I haven't experienced any freezing since I've set it up. Been watching pr0n. Hahahaha!
