ok I haven't reiceved it yet UPS was here but i wasn't home to except package what i have ordered is a NEW dishnet 301 reciever with card, for $50.00 bucks on fleabay, it is a pre-pay plan like you would do for a cell phone type plan.

I plan on after the fta's go down to just prepay for awhile until the coders figure things out i don't want to get locked into a 1yr or 2 yr agreement and cable sucks!!

from there i'm not really wanting to jump in to the slinger right off the bat,....liike to wait on the bugs to get worked out and maybe possiblly something else might come about for hacks..... BUT if i wanted to would the slinger work with this setup? thanks for the info and anybody else having good luck on prepay dishnet?

I have a 301-010 prepaid receiver with the G3 purple card, it works great.
It's called DishNow.
If you can find a "green dot money pak" that is the way to go.
I get them at Walgreens but some walmarts and rite aid carry them amoung others.
They cost $4.95, you can put $20-$500 on them.
When you call DishNow it is all automated, no CC or SS# just your zip code.
The DishNow # is 1-888-347-4132, very easy to setup.
With the green dot money pak you can activate the package you want
for 1 day, 1 week, 1 month or any length of time you like, great for weekend trips.
If you buy the $40 DishNow card like at radioshack you have to apply the whole card
at one time.
Check out the Green Dot Money Pak..
Google search is your best friend.

Now if you decide to use the 301 for the slinger you can jtag, read tsop, eeprom, save
in a safe place.
Then you can make a public tsop & flash the 301 with the public keyset & start slinging.
If you want to use the 301 & G3 card just flash the origional tsop & eeprom back to the 301 call dishnow & you good to go again.
Did this help?
good luck

Not sure if I should post this here or not but can you take a 301 dishnow tsop & eprom and flash it to any 301 to make it a dishnow?

WTP, Your ird numbers would be the same as another dishnow ird and they would catch more than one running the same. If you had the original and cloned one for youself then just moved the card you would be OK. IE home and cottage.

This system looks like someone could sub Dik in Canada. Very attractive if it is possible. Bv sucks and so does starcheeze.

This has been gone over and over and over, Yeah can be done. As for B&v, they carry the same stuff as the other providers. Also for those porn freaks that live in their parent's basement, offer more hard core than any of the others!

One thing I liked about Dave back in the H/u days, one bird to point at as opposed to Charlies two and sw21s legacy 500's...........terrible to set up. :-(

heres how i setup my dishnow system from canada

purchased dishnow system through ebay (make sure it includes G3 card)
googled abandoned properties in the U.S. within my timezone (dont need anyone getting my mail and complaining to dish) write the address down, you need a US address now to setup the account...

googled a business located near *my new home* wrote down telephone number and changed the last 3 digits (might as well make it as legit sounding as possible)

setup skype phone with skype out (any calls originating from canada to 1-888-347-4132 will be blocked) I already had a skype phone for long distance not sure if any other VOiP phones will work.

Purchase a DishNow card from one of the many online retailers and receive your PIN through email..

**make sure your receiver is hooked up and turned on, if its virgin it should say something about needing activation***

give the automated dish system a call, it will prompt you if your first time activation or add more days.
If its first time activation, the system will prompt you for a receiver number and smartcard number then patch you through to a live operator. The operator takes all the above information and creates an account for you then tells you to hang up and call back the machine to add your packages.
I was surprised the system was able to turn my channels on while i was on the phone..

im gonna watch prepaid for awhile, but if n3 is locked down for good (P4 nightmares), i'll be looking at getting a legit sub somehow.

if you end up needing a sub later look into flex tv =]. you can likely do a self install if you talk to the right retailers.

the dish pre-paid system is about to be converted to flex anyhow. you just need name and address to get flex and requires 149.00 activation to buy the standard 322 receiver and you have to pay the first months bill up front. no contract at all and can get your locals based on address and zipcode.

I just Love the Larceny of the above! I used the address of a UPS Store and won't say where and my VOIP # is the same area code.

Oh, if you watch the infomercials ..........cheap USB device m*gicj*ck, cheap and it works!

PS use your imagination................hint first letter of the alphabet.
