For whatever reasons I can't get 1.09 working but 1.08 works every time (using new server id). Does anyone know the differences between these two versions aside from new server ID? Does 1.09 prevent freezing? I do have some freezing with 1.08.

on a side note... if u click on "green" channels.. it will ask you for an upgrade... do nothing and wait on the screen .. 5 mins or so the channel will come on with video.. if u change the channel ur back to square one... so if u want to watch something in green just click and wait few mins
To quote an old adage, 'that's why it's called Fishing, not Catching' and the same goes for Testing. You are the first tier users and will learn as you go and as the firmware/software matures will benefit.
Once the initial hurdles are overcome, you're not going to see a two hundred dollar option with any Creds, so that's all I have to say.
Me, I really don't give a fuck <disclaimer for mature audiences only> as have a Sub, but when PPV opens...........I'll be there.
PS an old-new <T>head got some life.....back to 08 and only had 956 msgs back then to my credit and don't have a problem with that, what really Pisses me Off is the amount of wasted hair in the drain after I take a shower! :-( :-(

Aside from the server ID I do not know. However, I am up and running with 1.09. Did you reprogram all sections again in 1.09? I normally do everything again from scratch when we get a new version and haven't had a problem.

Tommy Boy can you give us alittle bit more information what you mean as "up and running"
That means steady watching tv no freeze no reboots on what? Bev or DN?

okay .. finally got up and running with 1.09 .. copied the setting.txt file from 1.08 folder to 1.09 as well wrote everything 3 times.but...still freezing...... im convinced the "freezing" is still on with 1.09 and new server ID. Is there anyone out there that does not have this freezing issue? can we take a poll?

I am testing both Dish and Bev. This is what I have using software version 1.09
Bev - 3100 - Private - Very little (hardly) freezing
Bev - 6000 - Private - Very little (hardly) freezing
Bev - 2700 - Public - Very little (hardly) freezing
Dish - 301.010 - Private - Little freezing (more than Bev) on N2. More freezing on N3 channels.

Yea and this new server was supposed to fix these issues. I hope they get it fixed b4 N2 runs out. Viewing will be useless.

EXACTLY !!!!! I know EXACTLY what you mean by that!!!!
I'm having the same problem with mine. For me it's better 1.08 than 1.09.. at least witn 1.08 version I manage for it to give video a bit longer
I don't know exaclty why it happens with newer software version... wish I knew!!!
I think that's what makes it SO FRUSTRATING!! I've been a tester since HU days with Dave and I know what the gamble is... but what drives me mad is trying to figure out if the damn thing doesn't work because I f**ked up in the way or because some damn server in china is down or having too much unanticipated traffic.
As I'm writing this, I get an orange light with both versions... makes me wonder... is it server down time?? is there a way to know for sure when the service is available???
at my age any hair lost really counts. Don't have the option to legally sub at where I am located. So call mine testing with a need for decent TV too.
whew .... guess I got it all out LOL

I have exactlly the same issue I have one 301.013 and 1 510 PVR both the same story as yours:confused:
I guess since all of us are in the same boat that means is not a router or internet issue, must be the server sending the IKs on time or something like that...

check this out... there is hope... since 1.09 didn't work well at all for me ... all i did is read back to make sure port eeprom is correct and then just loaded slinger with 1.08 three times and now it's up and running with very little freezing... best results so far.
