First I deleted all earlier Slinger versions, downloaded Slinger 1.09, loaded driver 1 and 2, opened settings file, overwriting the old server settings with these new server settings: SERVERID : (2C 83 DE 72 A4 C2 3D D6 5A 25 B7 D1 50 E3 CF 49 F9 A8 24 D1 3D 2D D8 32 EC BB C0 6F BB C0 D1 49 EC BB C0 6F BB C0 D1 49 EC BB C0 6F BB C0 D1 49 EC BB C0 6F BB C0 D1 49 EC BB C0 6F BB C0 D1 49); next I opened application, tested slinger, then I loaded slinger 3 times, with the system and receiver of your choice, went to Network Configuration, Lan Configuration, used auto, wrote 3 times, next Port Configuration, Source Port 10000, Destination Port 1, wrote 3 times, next went to IKS Channels, don't click channel scan, just use IKS Configuration box, use Client or server, your choice, next put in IKS Channel 100-00113 for dish or 100-00082 for Bev, your choice, put in Password 123456789, wrote 3 times, make sure Server ID Box has the new server address, you put in the settings text file. Next went to Bin Editer, loaded Bin included in Slinger 1.09, Dish or Bev your choice, wrote 3 times, disconnected USB cable and power cable, plugged in Cat 5 cable and power cable, Slinger went red then orange then blinking orange then blinking green, when you get blinking green, connect coiled card wire to Slinger and slide card into receiver. Hope this helps others.

The million dollar question is do you experience constant "freezing" to a point where you can't watch TV?

You've been around here for awhile, and don't have that box but I posted in another <T>hread about possible causes. As for the Bush word, my wife watches this tv show (House) and said character mentioned the 'interweb', talk about good writers! ;-)

I'm wondering, Mili said all boxes have a unique MAC........so what happens when one upgrades.........does anything get stepped on??

Have you used another machine to Ping the server or do a Tracert?

PS I just did that with this Site, 30 Hops......fastest was 24ms and then 348 and timed out.

Don't blame the Box, it's all 'interweb' dependant.

ok lets see how can we go about this ., so what programs you suggest to use to ping and how and what readings iam supposed to get , what is minimum and max...etc ., if some guy from the people who made or sell these slingers can put a sticky would realy help and eliminate all these theads over and over .
iam waitting and looking forward for instructions ., and then hope we can put all that info in one stop.

There are no programs involved to ping or tracert..............it's right there on your Doze machine.

The Linux guys will be shaking their heads but I don't care. Mr. Bill and that other fruit company has instilled the GUI onto everyone.....can't click on it........Oh Shit!

If you're running XP, go to start and Run type in command. You will now have a black window (it's called direct command line syntax) and perhaps C:/xxxxx/xxxx, if your drive is C:, and then type in cd/ hit enter...........now the prompt will read C: (whatever your main drive is, mine is E:).

Then type ping and the site...........this will give you the response times. After that....tracert............same deal and it will show you the Times and amount of hops.

Oh, have to type 'exit' to get out of that psuedo Dos window...........XP isn't DOS based........running '98..............you are.

Want me to go about about FAT and NT........nah it's boring.

I really think that this could be the cause of the freezing,,,,,,,,,,,,if so..........change the time outs.

Disclaimer: don't have the box but on the outside looking in and just tossing stuff out,
hopefully it will get back to their Coders. Writing Code is a centric thing..........get on a tangent and ............... :-(

Once Again rg6A --" I really think that this could be the cause of the freezing,,,,,,,,,,,,if so..........change the time outs."

What the fuck ur saying? changing time out will allow more time for your machine to wait on a response to the IKS server but that does not in no way improve communication between ur slinger to IKS server. Now on the other hand if the setting on a server side is not same as the client side -- 100BT or gig copper with Full/half Duplex auto off/on then there will be "hiccups" which could cause "freezing"
traceroute can give you insight.

Does anyone know the server settings also the IP address of th IKS server?

Unless you talk to your children like this I'd suggest you try not to talk to your fellow members here either. In case you do talk to your kids in this manner I suspect you can't help yourself and then your stay here will come to an abrupt end.

I think we must live in the same land. Now I get a similar problem on starts up , get 10 secs of video and then black screen.
I got it working well once with 1.08 and then went into D-Link router Administration and viewed the internet sessions and saw good communication with TCP and UDP protocols between server and Slinger.
Now UDP doesn't seem to work.Proper configuring of the router is a must to get Slinger working well.I'm still reading up on how to do that and I will post if I find a soution. Any other ideas on how, would be appreciated.

I really think and would suggest that you need an extended vacation.

PS also stay away from your keyboard, drinking and typing don't mix

Open the bin file you are using on your slinger and go to position A70E and change
it to the timezone you need.

eg. ED would be eastern daylight.

Only one i can remember off the top of my head. Do a search for the rest or
get it off your orginal bin you used to marry with.

The bin supplied with slinger is set to E8.

Zip code dosen't matter if you just want the clock right. I would leave the zip code as is in case
locals are added later. Unlikely but you never know.

Got it right in one. Bye.

This sort of thing just pisses me off. You are part of the solution or part of the problem. As part of the problem
I would kick your ass off. But that is not the culture of this site. So I'll just be glad I can tell you goodbye and
let the door hit you on the way out. Hard!

I'm new to the slinger, received one day, installed routor next , slinger the next, only problem i had was the length of ethernet cable is restricted, i noticed anything over 6'
wouldn't work for me. So i ended up extenting phone cable. I have not noticed any freezing, or any other problems, just surprised no PPV channels yet? Quit pointing the finger and read, i'm running simple belkin routor, cable interent. the simple things you overlook... Thats why its called TESTING........

I've "tested" 50' of phone cable between the slinger box & the waffer.
Thats why they call me a "Tester"......
I've also made a couple (2) xtra waffer's, it only uses 3 wires & 1 rj9 crimped straight through...Testing Testing
