How can a game be backed up without purchasing a LG-8164 DVD-ROM? Is there a way to do it with whatever DVD player/burner that you may have?

Hey

Well have you got the Backup-launcher file??
I would say Imgburn is a good program to use for burning and its free too

I find that DVDFab works great too.

I didn't ask the question correctly. I have an original game that I would like to make a backup of, but if I put it in the DVD drive it isn't recognized, so there is no way to copy it. Without buying a special DVD drive, is there a way to rip these kind of disks?

You can try to get a new driver for your current DVD burner, if that doesn't help then you have no other choice but to get a new DVD drive.

i understand the question spike, the only way to backup a original wii game is with those four or five dvd readers like the one you mentioned. My cousin bought one of ebay for about 35 bucks, not a bad price. works well. it does take a couple hours to read a game. I download all my games via bit torrent and then just burn them, You can read a burnt game with any dvd reader. not just one of those four. and to tell the truth. 99 percent of the games i download through bittorrent take less time than it takes my cousin's dvd reader to read a orignal wii game. but i have had him read a few for me. LOL
