Yesterday, May 6, 2009, st19 v2.8.21 started freezing. Anyone else notice this?
Noticed the FTAs are down again too....

Considering the imminent demise of NAG2, they seem to be putting a lot of effort into ECMs

The releases don't get posted here anymore so I have to go elsewhere to find them:confused: Don't see much activity in the EMU forum here anymore - especially with st19.... Have all the EMU folks moved on to other methods such as Slinger? Or have they all moved to other forums?

Just an oberservation and a curiousity about the lack of activity in EMU.

I usually have the next method lined up before my current method dies. Right now I use st19 EMU and FTA, both of which will die at the same time with NAG2 - actually since my FTAs are Coolsat 5000s, they look to have already died for lack of support. It looks like Slinger is the only viable replacement option right now and I'm cash strapped so can't do anything for a while until next month. So I'll probably have to live with OverTheAir local signals for a short while.

Aside from plastic, emulation used to be a superior form of testing, it isn't the case anymore. Maybe it's just me but emulation seems to go down at the same time as Atmegas/FTA. There's only a handful of coders that support cemu/st19 anymore. I remember a time when everything would go down except for plastic and emulation...the good old days...I still have my Cancom internal emu chip installed but I'm testing plastic/atmega 256 right now...

cover, you may want to to check out smitty26 over at marketrealm, he specializes in emulation...

us emu folks like to distance ourselves from freetv'ers and sites dedicated to freetv'ers. Look hard enough and you'll find the old emu crowd.

LMAO...Moved to slinger...LOL, that's the best one i've heard. I think I speak for the Emu crowd, we stick to freeware, that's right, freeware cardshare. NKshare and RQCS are good examples. Its free, private and well supported. File support won't vanish either like whats happened with the last 5 or so freetv'er gadgets; Magic, AVR-x, Enigma, Romulator, USB-Atmega, ect...Doesn't anyone else see a pattern here, or am i just an idiot??

humm, aside from this week, ST19 + real aux stays up for months at a time with no risk of looping. I would def. call that a superior form of testing.

Good point, and thank scooby again for bringing the new cemu modules over. None of the other mods here emu. I'm the only one I think. That's why support has waned around here. We can do card share with our current emu set ups just as, and likely more stable than the slinger, and it's completely open source. No new investment needed. It is more difficult to find the info and more technical to set up, but current emu set ups will do everything the slinger does. Add to that newer, better emu set ups are on deck for public release. I don't see emu dying even with a full card swap. I could be wrong about that though.

not just u Jt still doing the emu thing myself. Must admit i have switched to the CEMU side of things
though. Two reasons. One CEMU is not just plug and play. Just like to keep the mind active. And the
I rather like the who is the first to release a public fix and see it work as the only reward. Which only encourages the learning side of the equation.

Reminds me of the old testing days.

I mean shit if watching tv is what it was all about I could have spent the last 6 years watching uninturpted tv on my carded systems.

Come to think of it I did when watching was all i was intrested in.

Holy crap t160hq, have we really been on this site for six years now?!

Anyway, sorry to leave you out. I knew you used to emu but neither of us post much about it anymore. Fewer people come here to ask the questions lately might be why we don't talk about it more. Crazy used to emu too, so it might be more prevalent than I think still.

, but current emu set ups will do everything the slinger does.

Not so with the Vip 211's...Tested St19xl and Ultraaux with the vip and what few channels that did come in were very slow to appear. Probably would have worked well with a aux card....lost my last Rom card changing keys with Dark Angel so I was limited to Ultraux...won't have to change keys anymore with the the Vip's and Slinger!!!!!

But, your handy slinger is splattering your IP addy all over who knows where.

Besides, I have a vip722 running with ST19 and havn't changed the keys in months. How you ask...

Have a 508 and VIP722 running st19 off the same PC, both with real aux cards. Since the 508 instance of ST19 rolls the keys, I have a proggy that checks the 508's .cor file every 1minute for new keys. When it finds them, it "injects" the new keys into the .cor image of the vip722, then reloads the .cor in st19. So, in a since, its autorolling, but more like ghetto roll. Don't ask, this app is private and created by one of the old emu guys.

If you ask me, I would rather deal with a few keychages then have the feds at my door.

But don't worry, the manuf. of the slinger say the server is offshore and you are safe, so it must be OK....LOL

Testing a 510,921 VIP211 and a VIP722 all with ST19. Built all the boards and other hardware including computers myself. Unlocked cams and built CORs from scratch. Recently found a private site with card share(N3). Starting to test with that for now as most of my equipment will cross over. It would be great to keep testing with ST19 after the swap but right now its not happening.
Oh yea back to the post, I agree not a lot of talk other than "slinger" here.

yeah, i'll go the same route. If you're already using st19 or cemu, the switch to cardshare couldnt' be easier. Close st19 and start RQ-echo client!!

Time to finally dust that purple cam off that's been sitting beside the ird!!

I think you all are right, its a problem with people that want plug and play. I have only doing this for maybe 5 years and there is always less stuff for me to do. I am at a point where i'm just updating cemu or waiting for st19 fix. Both sites that I used to get my info from have been closed and I really haven't been able to find one were people are discussing ideas not just looking for the new fix. By the way, which public card share is better, easier, more stable NKshare or RQCS.
