You will NOT get ALL of the HD locals...the Slinger is not an "open" card solution. You will only get what the master card (from which you are leeching) is subscribed to.
Having said this, I believe the Slinger gets the network "flagship" stations in HD, so you would be covered.

A lot of the locals are spotbeamed (whether SD or HD). The ones that are not spotbeamed are part of a package. The Slinger works from a subscribed G3 card (the "master card"). You receive whatever channels that the "master card" is subscribed to.
I think you are confusing a "wide-open" plastic card with the theory behind the Slinger.
Another thing a lot of people are not thinking of is that once the N2 stream is dropped, the PPV movie channels will also "go black", not only on Slinger, but all other STBs that are IKS'ing.

thank you and yes I am confused a little so lets just make this very easy for me . say I live in florida and I want to watch the redskins games and that channel is on 129 sat and I know that it is not spot beamed will I get it or not . or does that master card only have one city of locals

If the redskins game is only broadcast on the local stations. then it can only be received in about a 200 mile diameter of the intended city for the local station. hence the term "spotbeamed"

If the channel is wide-beamed AND is part of the master card's subscription, then yes you will get that channel.
There are lists of what channels the Slinger gets in this forum...just look for it.
Add the remaining porn and how some PPV to that list!

just to be clear, the certain vod ppv that were just added is only until n2 stream completely shut-off or is the slinger gonna keep getting these somehow?
either way sounds like as long as you get more than a month of up and running a GREAT new toy worth the money

The Slinger only gets what is subscribed. The PPV Movie channels are only there while the N2 stream is up. As you can see, the Events PPV channel went black on Slinger yesterday (as it did for all methods of N2 testing).
