nFusion is hit or miss if its working or not. Slinger seems stable and running, but don't have the server software should public disappear.

Really a moot point, i'm waiting it out a bit longer to see what if anything else pops up. both are quite pricy.

Slinger stable and running?? lol... OK if you say so... But from what I'm reading, from many different sites, there's lots of bugs still being worked out with the slinger... As for the nfusion, I have no clue, haven't been following that setup status, so I have no output to offer...

You don't have a clue.

My nFusion-HD has been up with absolutely no freezing whatsoever for months.

I have had a Slinger for about three weeks and it has steadily gotten better. I had initial freezing before troubleshooting my internet connection and since 2.0 I have been pretty stable.

They are both good products. Which to buy? If you want to support this site, then the choice is obvious...Mili sells the Slinger and doesn't sell the nFusion.

Months eh? I smell bullshit in that statement. Mili even had a thread about their solid week of downtime, and busts back in feb, which came a few months after their 2 weeks of solid (unexplained) downtime.. I am unsure as I didn't start reading up on the fusion but I think it was only for B3v with 2 weeks downtime - likely when N3 came into play. In the middle timeframe there was forum posts all the time about channel X being out, or Channel Y not mapped correctly, or what service channels got what actual channel in, 600 block out on bev, whatever...

Maybe I am crazy but the nFusion which once had built a good rep no longer does after whats been happening lately. Hell most retail FTA stores you have to go in and ask like you're buying contraband to get them. most sites pulled them from the listing...

Can you even watch N3 channels on DN with nFusion yet? I know a week ago you couldn't, everyone was complaining the HD went to the darkside.. Bev kinda works - but no international, no sports packages, no special events, a handful of french, which the slinger claims to be working - if you can get the slinger working...

Neither are great solutions, people have bad experiences with both. Seems most slinger issues are with the end users setup though, as both DN and Bev are working and theres more open... just what I read, look around and see. I jumped before and fell, I am not gonna do it again. Just keeping an eye on how things are running for now.

Not crossing swords with you, buy I OWN both the nFusion-HD and the Slinger.

As you said, neither are OEM equipment, so you have to look at each with a critical eye.

The time you are referring to as a solid week of downtime for the nFusion was actually a few days of severe freezing, which got ironed out pretty quickly. And it only seemed to affect one provider or the other...I switched between them during this period and was never without TV.

The "raids" that supposedly ocurred were in Canada and didn't really affect nFusion sales in the U.S. Today you can get nFusions from MULTIPLE sources in the U.S.

The reason that nFusion doesn't show N3 channels yet is that (by physical limitation with the fimrware) the nFusion can only provide one stream (N2 or N3) per provider at any given time. Because PPV Movie Channels are "still up" on N2, the nFusion Team has chosen to stay with the N2 stream until PPV dies. nFusion is very capable of IKSing N3 (as their reception of BEV channels proves).

The availability of BEV channels is quite extensive....I get hella more than a few French Channels, don't care about international channels, get PLENTY of sports (hockey) channels, and NO TESTING EQUIPMENT (Slinger included) are getting ANY N3 PPV channels.

So you can listen to someone that "gathers information" or listen to someone that TESTS THE EQUIPMENT in question....your choice.

For some of us, this is a hobby....we buy the gadgets and gizmos and have fun with them....any expectations beyond that are a fool's errand.

I'm sorry to cut anyone short if they have something more to add to this discussion. The Charlie/Bev FTA forum has been closed.
