will there ever be a crack?

Hello everyone,
I want to hear your opinions. do you think there ever will be a crack for the N3 stream? I do not mean Slingers they are just work arounds, I mean a full blown crack like N2 we have been doing for a while now. Anyone know of Testers trying to crack it or is it a lost cause like the DTV P4?

Also lets be serious here, I have allready heard the one about the Cookie Monster. I want honest opinions.

opinions could lead on for days... what you need is fact, and with fact theres proof.

So, I deduce that until there is proof it won't be cracked... so basically I am saying absolutly nothing.

Personally if this IKS catches on, I don't think there will ever be a public crack... too much capitalism in this hobby.

and we all know the big boys also would be the ones to hack the card .

I personally don't see the "free servers" for Slinger remaining free for very long. If they do, then hey- that's great!!! But the subs that they are maintaining for that have got to be cutting into their profits...and when the sales of Slingers taper off, then they will be looking for alternate ways of getting a profit...like starting to charge for server access. They would alleviate this worry of mine by releasing the server-side software (so I can host my own private network)...heck, I would even buy a few more slingers...but I am holding off until then.

I don't see a hack for the 240/241 for the immediate future, I know there are people working on it, but until the cards become more widespread and cheaper, people are going to be hesitant about just throwing cards into an unlocker and just randomly throwing glitches at them.

If there is a private hack for the rom240/241, it won't be released for at least a few weeks after the swap is complete, and probably longer. If there is a hack, it will be released when the coder deems it most profitable, which is most likely when folks are jones'ing the hardest to get their TV back. Maybe the IKS alternatives will push the release date up, or maybe IKS will end up being the only work around. It's all speculation at this point. My opinion, and it's just a guess, is that there will be some kind of hack at some point. There are a lot of folks that simply wont run a public IKS option due to privacy issues. Who knows. Maybe that illusive Dave hack will go public instead. Only time will tell.

Until Dicknert goes completely N3 and stays that way for a month or 2 there will be no chance of a crack release. Why? Dick is going slow, to potentially see what FTA has. Countermeasures are expensive. They want to see what FTA has in store prior to committing themselves.

FTA has to lie low until Dick commits itself.

Hence, both sides in this war must take a wait and see approach.

Once DICK lays its cards on the table MAYBE FTA will step up.

This is a war, and each side is jockeying to see who has what weapons.

As far as "is there an N3 hack out there?"

Who knows? Time will tell.

I am not a slinger yet, so I can not be positive. But I beleve the server side software has been out since almost the very beginning. With football season fast approaching running a server side between 20 to 40 people is looking very attractive to expanding my sub to include that many channels.

Coders have not given up or will they ever! Between clitching & capping there is talk that alot of progress has been done already, but until a dump is posted it is just talk. Don't expect any news on this for several months though, and it probably will not be entirely free for quite some time.

...uhh..... NO, there is currently no working SERVER-SIDE Software released for the Slinger. If you are hoarding a copy, please forward it to me...50+ old retirees in a trailer park are EAGERLY awaiting your reply!!!!

Zerokill as I said I am not a slinger as of yet, but it was my understanding that all you have to do is change the server.INI file. I believe that is what I heard on this site or CC.

Anyhow ask MILLI he would be in the KNOW. IF they don't have anything set up already for Server side I would not know why. The freezing on Dish side is the biggest thing keeping me from taking the plunge. Still would miss out on some of the PPV college games. But as long as you can get most of the college and pro games & some of the other Premium movies that I don't get now is all I care about.

I saw on fta site that fta is starting to go private servers for n3 with more channels and pay per views on all day tickets with sports. I think all fta will go this way.Also they offer server side software keyed to the bin file.

U must mean IKS or NK cardsharing which are only done on Infusion or Dreambox or other FTA's that U can get a dongle for. Never owned a FTA or followed their sites but I know there is No FTA hack out for N3.

if you got into the card, opened all the tiers, how would you keep it open? how would you get back in?
