When reading a thread I no longer see the thread tools button that drops down to let you subscribe to that thread. Is it just me or is it somewhere else ??

Nevermind. I'm sure someone at the "other" site will have your answer. Going elsewhere and badmouthing this place is not how to make friends here mtmt1us.
