Bev 5900 PVR - super slow buttons

Hi,
I have a 3100 which I got setup on Slinger. I picked up a 5900 cheap, and performed succesfull surgery on it - making it work fine with Slinger.

Quick question - buttons on the remote seem super slow - my 3100 acted at times like this - I'm not sure why. Any ideas? Sometimes I seem to almost need to push buttons twice on the remote to move my way around the box.

Using the buttons on the box, everything is nice and speedy.

ANy idea what this could be?

I am also thinking of going back to Mythtv - the DVR software on these boxes is sure lacking allot of the Bells and Whistles I am used to in MythTV.

Try the 3100 remote, The infrared should run it also,Less the dvr funtions. See if it works faster.
Check remote batteries are good, In my case I had to open up my dvr remote and clean the button contacts up. Have the Antenna connected for the remote on the back of the 5900 ? They run UHF usually.

I put new batteries in the remote - no difference.

Whats really strange is - in some menus its lightning fast, others painfully slow.

The remote, does say on it - UHF - so maybe thats my issue. I didn't get an antenna with the receiver
