VIP 722 with balance owing

A friend of mine has a VIP 722 with a balance owing on it.

Q1: Does that a cause a problem with him sending it in for BGA TSOP programming (Mili's Service)?

Q2: Once reprogrammed will it have a balance owing?

There is an asterisk on your Q2. It MIGHT not have a balance, depending on what kind of numbers they put on your BGA in the Mod process. Either way...you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SUBSCRIBE LEGITIMATELY with a Mod'd VIP receiver unless you put the "old" BGA back on and pay the balance.

So if you owe $300 worth of porn-per-view on a VIP722 and think you are going to wipe it clean for $140 and re-sub it, it doesn't work that way.

I also wondered this as I have a similar issue. When you get it back, what about it makes it unsubbable (is that a word?)...I ASSumed that since it has different numbers, it would be clean and ready to go...

it would not be able to be a sub because your receiver will have different numbers inside it than what is on the barcode to identify it. they would obliviously know if you gave them public numbers.

the reason is because your card and reciever are paired together. if you put the card back in after it is modded the screen will pop up with a message that says "please insert correct access card" or something like that.

so you will call and get a new card from dn. but like i said it wont work either way.

basically there is no way you can clear a balance from your account from doing a vip ird mod

I am a little confused ?

When I get my modded receiver back from Milli, will my unit have private (unique to my unit), or public numbers (same box keys and IRD that they have cloned from another unit)?

If they send it back with the same numbers that they use for every 722 mod, won't that make the 722's a easy target if they ever get anybody s numbers.

It will have what you refer to as public numbers...... Really pvt.. but you will not be able to do anything with that IRD except slinger,or other c/s and you will need the bin to do any plastic later..OR.... N3XT.New emu.....{You will not be able to sub a modded unit.........EVER.......Thats all the facts.......}..

It will have the public numbers. (Which have been in use for quite a while now with no issues).

I wouldn't worry.

if you want to sub your ird after having it modded you could send it back to mili to have your original chip re-installed
