Hello. I have a 301 with no card on it. How do I know if it can be used with a slinger? I'm still reading threads and info before ordering the slinger.

Already started but I don't have clear what to do if my receiver has a ROM241. I just don't want to order the slinger and then find that it needs some mods before successfully instal the Slinger. On http://www.bellexpress.vu/clientinstructions.pdf says that I need
"A ROM 102 card EEPROM file that is married to your receiver"

What about the purple Rom 241? Can it work with a married 301.010 w/Rom 102 ?? Is there a way with the N3?

The "purple card" Cannot be used. That is a Nagra 3, ROM241, G3, and many other names. It's not hacked (yet). You may be able to use your current receiver with the Slinger.

To use your current receiver with a Slinger, you will need an "older" receiver (like a 301) that can be JTAG'd so that you can write a public flash to it to be used with a Slinger. Or, if you have an "opened" ROM102 card, you can use the image from that to run "private". Or Mili is selling receivers at the top of the screen that are already mod'd to use a Slinger.

All of this is explained in the FAQ. I know some of the terms may seem "alien" to most of the newbies, but if you have any questions, lay them out here or contact one of us and we can help string you through the "initial phase" so that you can get a Slinger from Mili and start Slinging!!!!

How do I know if my 301.013 is a single or dual chip receiver?
The board is from 2002.
It has the firmware P452. Do it will be lost after adding a new TSOP and edit the Box key and serial?
I also can't find a public TSOP for the hardware build. It is DAPD-N
I have a Motorola Surfboard SGB900 cable modem and a D-Link DI-524 Do this combination will work well for the slinger?
I hope to order my singler soon after be sure that I have everything I need to make it work.

Thanks for any help and advice...

Try not to double-post in the future. I answered your question the first time in this thread:

The SGB900 has it's own firewall, which must be disabled or worked around to let your Sllinger "see" the internet without limitations. If you are not familiar with "techie" stuff, you are going to be in for some rough sailing.
