at home on my sub im picking 82 and 91, if i bring non hd reciever to cottage and hook it up, i get that channel not subscribed to crap. but if i bring the box home it works. do i have to to have my box hooked up to both 82 and 91 at the cottage? or are the recievers somehow synced at home together. sorry if so stupid.

Did you run a switch check when you connected your receiver at the cottage? If not, it will look for both satellites.

yup and in the setup menu i get that "warning message"and it says to press details for more info and it basically says to check the alignment, and for obstructions on the dish. i've stacked before but now that i've added an hd box i haven't tried it.
it's kinda funny, modding boxes and plastic i can figure out, but something as simple as this, im stumped. i'll tell ya it's allways the simple things that get me. now that plastic is down i'll be getting a slinger.
i use my reciever for a sat finder and my dish is a bitch to get to. otherwise i would just keep trying this or that. till i got my answer. so instead, hopefully someone here will be able to verify if i could still stack?
thanks for the tip bill84
I figure the check switch should sort things out, but when we go to the cottage the last thing I'd bring is a tv or ird, crackberry..........yeah but shut it off and check every few hours and that's it.
IMHO, it's nice to get a weekend away from technology and bothersome emails and phone calls. ;-)

I had a similar problem this year at my cottage. I lost all my even transponders, the signal strength went to "0", but the odd transponder signal strength was in the mid 70's. After lots of fooling around I replaced my 18" dish with a 22" and everything is good now. I think Bell has been changing things around, because I never had problems before. Other people up north had similar issues. Maybe check all your transponders for signal strength, might be something like that.

cool i'll try that. . i'll post my results. when i get the time i'll just setup a separate dish at home and try it here. that way i wont have to disconnect my home system and worry about deactivation.
thanks again

The way I understand it, is this what you're saying at home you got your HD rec. sub to BEV but when at the cottage you hooked up a non HD rec. so If I'm right your non HD rec. which haven't sub to BEV. If so you have to call up and sub it or just add more rec. to your acc .
