can somebody plz help me with the set up of dp34 and 110, 119, coming from super dish going to one 508 receiver and it works fine like this, I got echo 2008 linear circular lnb for 118w from seperate 33' dish, i understand from one reply to a previous thread that it is not dp lnb and it will not work with dp34, i tries all combination and it will now show and if it shows it will be 118 feed odd or even but not full, so the question is ,Is there any dp lnb 118w to work with dp34?? so i can watch the 110, 119 and the 118w. or is there any hook up trick to get it going, I tried the sw21 and sw 42 with no luck.
i can hook it up direct without the switch and it works fine and it shows fulll odd & even after the switch check rotine.but it wont with the dp34.
any help will be greatly appreciated,
thanks

You need to understand some technology here first.

There are three flavors of LNB's that DN/Bev uses: Legacy, DishPro, and DishPro-Plus.

Legacy is the oldest and slowest. DishPro was created so that if you had a long cable run, it would support this without the need for an in-line "booster". DishPro-Plus was created for the Dual-tuner receivers so that signals could be mixed and one cable into the house can provide service for two tuners on a DPP (DishPro-Plus) capable receiver.

Now these technologies are (for the most part) incompatible. You cannot run a Legacy LNB through a DishPro switch. In most cases, you cannot run a DishPro-Plus LNB through a DishPro (DP) switch.

I think you are trying to do this. The LNB you are using for 118 is not "DishPro" and won't react to the commands that the receiver will send to your DishPro (DP34) switch.

If you have a "true" SuperDish500, then you should have a large square LNB (that has both the 119 and 118 LNB combined) and another single LNB that will receive 110. All three of these should feed to your DP34 switch and allow you to receive 110/118/119.

What you "most likely" have (and this irks me to no end, when a manufacturer or eBay seller calls a spade a heart) is a hybrid generic dish. If the Dish doesn't actually say "SuperDish" on the front of it, it most likely is a hybrid and NOT a SuperDish500.

With a hybrid dish, you can't use a DP34 for your purposes because you wouldn't be using the right LNBs for that task. Hybrid dishes are meant primarily for FTA reception, using a DiSEqC switch.

thank you superkill for this info, on my dish there is a big sequare lnb and it is as i said 119 & 121 also it says super dish on the dish, i don't use the 121, so i got the linear separate dish for the 118 and i would like to combine these lnb's to my receiver 508, so what is the requirement to this combination, 110, 119 from super dish, 118 from another dish,is there a 118-119 DP LNB i have to buy and replace the 119,121 i have on my super dish?
i have dp34 which is not compatable and i have sw21 and sw42, all of these didnot do the job, now how can i do this set up, which switch i have to buy to solve this problem, thank you for your informative input.

Wow, I did leave out that "other" kind of SuperDish...LOL

Goes to show you that there are "MANY" different set ups for DN and Bev.

It's been a minute since I've heard of a SuperDish500 set up for the 119/121 sats.

You aren't going to like my suggestion to you. Look on Fleabay for a SuperDish with 110/118/119 all built in with everything included. i have seen them as cheap as $45 + $25 shipping. With this, you can use your DP34 switch, as all of the included LNBs will be DishPro.

I have put MANY of these up and have never dealt with the 119/121 combo (although I have heard of it). I am pretty sure 121 has very little (if anything) on it right now (DN-wise).

As a side note...I have one of these SuperDish500's with a special metal bracket on it and currently receive 91 (Bev), 110, 119, and 129 (DN) all at the same time. The 129 is kinda weak sometimes (and I sometimes lose lower numbered transponders during a particularly heavy rainstorm).

This is for my FTA setup, but we can't talk about that kind of stuff here (grin).

Whatever happened to "testing"???? I sure miss that stuff!!!

Update:
I asked my Sat installer partner and he said if it is a "true" SuperDish from DN, you just need to replace the LNBs with the 110/118/119 set (available on FleaBay for around $30). These are all DishPro.

Did you try to connect your 118 feed to the third port of the DP 34 like I suggested in your other thread ??

On a big 500 PLUS dish the 118 feed is FSS and ONLY works if hooked to the THIRD input of the switch. Put 119 on port 1, 110 on port 2. Good luck !

yes i tried & it is a no go, i tried different combination with no luck, i 'm looking to buy the dp 110,119,118 dish500, also i needed the 118 for one channel only the 777 arabic, and iit is coming red on the guide, it was ok couple days ago, so i don't know if it is the bin (my bin) or the slinger bin (the dish dump bin), i tried to update the tires for 118 in the dt-tierwork and mr. tierwork but that ch (777) doesn't show on the list, i couldn't find any string for it either, so i'm back with 110/110 olnly antil i get some help on it,
if you know how to get it back on the guide , that will be great,
thanks
