501 bev

i would like to know if i can convert my 501 dish ird to bev so i can use it for slinger and also do i have to point at 91 bird first to update it after writing or will it update with what i have already(110-119-129) thanks to those that reply new to this bev stuff guys

you have to point at 91, then force a TSOP upgrade. Otherwise it will stay dn. That would be the easiest. The 501 should convert to a 5100 I think. bellexpress dot vu should have plenty of guides on how to jtag and get the slinger working with that receiver.

ok got a public bin for my ird and epromm and flashed it pointed at sat 91 but i get wrong sat but i see sat signal strength up to 72 but no green do i need to erase flash sector 52 to update i got 79p firmware on it am i on the right path???

did just that and it work like a charm freeze free on bev i can confirm that but on dish so so...........
