I have basic comcast cable,I want to upgrade to digital,I do not want to rent 4 boxes from comcast for all of my other rooms, can I buy my own boxes.
I have a list of boxes from there own site that I must use. Will it work if I connect it.Most or all of them are motorola,I am not sure what the latest cable box is. They have Motorola DCT700, Motorola DCH-70 and Motorola DCH6416 are just a few of them.
I called them today and they said I would have to rent, but I want to find out from others.
THANK'S Mike K.

you need to ask them if they'll activate 3rd party boxes . Also , they might only allow so many boxes per subscription . You , of course will have to pay for digital service , i'm pretty sure you will have to give comcast the serial #'s of each box and they will remotely activate them .

I seriously doubt that they will activate non comcast owned equipment. You could try, but if you spend the money you might end up holding the box(s), ha ha ha. I had a friend that bought a new surfboard modem and they wouldn't let him use it for that roadrunner shit, those greedy fucks !!!
