As I have read most all the information about the slinger, I haven't seen this question.
I subscribe to the basic channels on Dishnet. If I want to install a slinger to my existing set up that I now subscribe to, can the slinger setup be detected by dishnet?

If I can use the slinger with the subscription, is there a special setup I need to do?

The existing equipment I have belong to dishnet.

If I can't use my setup as is, I would like to purchase a dual type receiver with a DVR or some type of recording device within the receiver. I notice that this site is sold out. Can you tell me when there might be more stock coming in or where I might purchase a dual receiver, ebay maybe? What brand to look for?

Thank you!

The slinger, as far as I know, is a stand alone solution. I don't know of any way to combine the slinger with a subscription. It's one or the other. Having a slinger does not prohibit you in any way from having a sub. They just can't be used at the same time on the same receiver. Both dual and DVR receivers work fine with the slinger.

Thank you JT, I am now confused. I don't know where the other posted reply went. He thought it would be fine. I wasn't sure about his post either.
But more over, I thought that with the slinger, we would all be sharing off of someone's subscription, meaning someone who had a full subscription from dish or bev and the slinger would allow each of us to capture the stream so to speak and receive the program that someone else was subscribing to, is this not correct?
I don't care either way, I just thought I would use my existing receivers, but if I have to purchase new equipment I'll do that. That's why I'm asking, I didn't see this kind of question. I would like to have a dual setup with the ability to record as well. It appears this website is out of stock, I would prefer to purchase here to help promote the people who keep this forum going. By the way, I'm on hughes satelite with no other choice at the moment. When another provider comes into my area I'm throughing hughes in the trash!
