Currently I have dish 500 and dish 300
I want to be able to get HD channels and dish 300 channels. What are my options ?
Also...
What is the difference between dish 1000.2 and 1000.4 setup ?
I read 100.4 picks up 65.1 does that mean if I install .4 I would not need dish 300 anymore ?
thanks

Dish 1000.4 is a add on for DISH 1000.4 sats 77,72.7 & 61.5
It has 3 lnbs's for these locations and a input port for your other dish ie. 110 119 etc.
You could use it with your 500 and drop the 300, But if you use 121 you will need that yet.

so that im clear
- 1000.2 can be replaced for dish 500 providing 110 119 and 129 where HD channels are located
- 1000.4 can be replaced for dish 300 providing 61.5 sat
so to replace current setup dish 500 and 300
I could install both 1000.2 and 1000.4 or
I could install 1000.2 and leave 300
Is this all correct? Please correct if I'm wrong
thanks

You could just use a Dish 1000.2 and add the Dish 300 aimed at sat 61.5 and use the input port on the Dish 1000.2 and have all four sats 110,119,129,61.5

I seem to get all the HD channels in the guide except HDPPV with a 500 twin LNB. Am I limited by the LNB as to what I see in the guide? Would more HD channels be available with a 1000.2 or am I now getting all that is available?

No you are not getting all HD with a Dish 500. Here is the list. You need sat 129. Yes the Dish 1000.2 will get all HD. then you can add Dish 300 to it and have east coast HD locals as long as you are in the spot beam.

I tried the link above but could not connect, wrong URL? Anyway, my question about HD was specific to the slinger lineup not dish in general. In looking at the current slinger channel list I do not see any HD channels available and yet I can tune some HD channels. So some HD channels are available but not yet documented, at least not from the list in this link http://dssftp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81574. The question should have be can I get more HD channels with a 1000.2 within the slinger channel list than what I am currently getting with the 500 twin LNB. If so, can you tell me what channels?

Just to confirm... I would need DPP44 switch where dish 300 can be connected

Again.. what type of switch would i need to connect four inputs (110/119/128/61.5) to VIP722?
Do i need dpp44 or can i connect straight from the LNB ?

Don't need a switch if you have a Dish1000.2. Just put your dish 300 aimed at 61.5 in the input of the lnb of the Dish 1000.2.

stinkfist,
i understand that i can connect 300 to the fourth input on 1000.2 but i need to connect those four cables to vip722 which has one imput so i need a switch in between - which switch wud i need. i do not want dual tuner mode - single mode is okay.

Negative! The 1K.2 has three outputs and one input... You only need one of the output wires to connect to the receiver... No switch needed...

great! so I can connect dish 300 to one input and from three outputs i connect one to vip722
thanks

Correct! Hook your 722 up to one of the outputs and then you'll have two other outputs left for two other receivers...

How do you tell a di*h 1000.2 from a 1000.4? I have an oval di*h that says 1000 on it and it has a triple lnb. I tried to dial it in but I can only get 1 sat at a time. If I use the oval 1000 for sat 129, can I use my 500 for 110 and 119 and get more HD channels on my vip211 with slinger?

Here are some links to read on the differences. There is a Dish 1000, Dish 1000.2, , Dish 1000.4 & Dish 1000 plus. i would suggest just to buy a Dish 1000.2. They are the cheapest and you don't need a DPP 44 or DP 34 switch to run. The Dish 1000.4 is the same but it is for eastern arc. I got my Dish 1000.2 for $65 shipped on eBay. Seen them for under $50.

The 1K.2 dish is spread and ready for the 110, 119 and 129 satellites... It also has an input for a seperate single dish... You can tune in a total of four satellites to operate three receivers...
