Hey Guys
I have a 2 dish's one with 82,91,110,119 & one with 61.5 with legacy LNBf and a diseqc 4x1 switch (82&91 not connected at this time hence i only need 4x1).
I'm looking to get a vip622 to get HD, but want to know if this will work with my current setup and diseqc switch?
I know by default they are set to get 110,119,129 but in the south 129 wobbles hence the dedicated dish for 61.5.
Can i get it set up to ignore 129?, can i have 129 & 61.5 connected at the same time? Would it be much simpler to get the Dish 1000.2 LNB with built in switch and input the 61.5 into that?
cheers

Well, I am no expert on the issue but I don't think it will work well. I was short a SW21 because 22KHz switches worked better with DVBDream and my Genpix. At first I tried just connecting one tuner but the 622 would complain about this at inappropriate times. So I hooked up the other tiuner with just 119 instead of 110 and 119 like the other. Actually I think that was wrokable but the unit wouldn't let me use PIP. It said the tuner inputs had to have the same sat configuration. I really whish there was an option to disable one tuner.
Since you can't use both tuners with a slinger without making freezing worse, I wouldn't recommend a dual tuner. You will get better results with two single units.

Thanks m8, i had read on another thread something similar about dual tuners, i only have 1 TV. But one of the replies stated you could just tune the other tuner to a FTA channel and it doesn't have to decrypt anything.
I don't need 2 tuners, but i do want PVR and HD and as far as i can tell the only boxes that have that also have 2 tuners.
So the other hardware should be OK? Switches and LNB's? It was for a similar setup Genpix and DVBPlus much preferred it to DVBDream.

Really? CNet says it has 2 http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-video-recorders-dvrs/dish-networks-dvr-942/4505-6474_7-31383014.html plus it doesn't have component on TV#1 which i understand is better to use with a slinger as there are some issues using HDMI

Yes, you will have to do that to minimize freezing. The problem is that the device seems to have a mind of its own when picking tuners for recordins. Most of the time it works okay but every now and then it decides to pick the other tuner. And it is a pain to get things back on track with recordings of 101.

I was leaving that to others. For DiSEqC switches I would say no. Might work, I think Dish uses some DiSEqC technology, but I don't think they go out of there way to accomodate it. I would lry it but I would be prepared to buy Dish compatible switches.
I think to Dish, DiSEqC means you either live overseas or are a pirate!

Don't know where they get that idea!
Maybe i'll save my self some headaches and just get a 1000.2 LNB setup.
cheers
