501 DVR Help

I purchased a 501 and am expecting it by the weekend. Assuming I have the correct chip and don't need a vid mod (fingers crossed) I am looking for the easiest way to get this running. I was thinking of either cloning it to my 301 or just flashing it with public numbers. I am leaning toward flash with public numbers, is this process correct:
1. Find a public flash that matches the first 3 letters of my TSOP
2. Jump OJ1
3. Erase flash 1 multiple times
4. Erase flash 2 multiple times
5. Program Flash 2
6. Program EEprom with virgin
7. Let receiver stream update and HD will then marry?

5B program flash 1...the 501 should not require a vidmod to flash the TSOP's

I read that programming flash 1 can cause problems and to let it stream update, it that false?

man I'm not sure about that but you'll get nowhere if you don't, the reciever needs both flashes

I guess I have to read some more, lol. When looking at public flashes that i have downloaded for 501's, there is only 1 flash.

use flash 2 to flash the ird. the first flash will be rebuild by the stream
