Hey chupy, did you forget to attach the file?
Ok...there it is. Very nice work, chupy! I will try this out on my next day off. A big thanks once again, dude! Did you also upload it to the files section?

You're always welcome here, dude! In my books, you are an extremely big asset to any site that you help out at. I just thought you were only loyal exclusively to M.tv ...lol!

Good to see you Chupy !!.....I thought I saw an orange sheep here the other day !!
Finally got the ic(74hct244) and it worked like a champ on a 301.10.
read flashes, was 00001 and it took update. then for shits and giggles I erased both flashes and wrote back with softlock. IRD updated and is still up.
What the hell is the switch for?(3V and 5V). I left it in the center position to read and write.
looked back thru november and cant find a user guide for buffered only the how to build.
TIA

Howdy all, been doing a lot of reading re: buffered jtags and have started gathering components to go with Chupy's guide i found here. All of the schematics ive seen so far depict a 74_244 octal buffer..which happens to be a noninverting buffer... problem is i dont live near a real electronics store and must settle for ratshack crap... Ive visited/called 8 of the stores in my area but none carry the 74_244 series and have in fact stopped stocking them. My question is: Can i use 74_240 which is an octal buffer 3-state inverter (same thing as a 74_244 but output is inverted) and then run the outputs thru a hex inverter chip (both of which are currently stocked at ratshack)? I personally dont see why you couldnt do this, but then again im not a real electro-gizmo kind of guy... and any input from those wiser than i would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
...oh.. i know i can mail order from mouser or digikey...but seems so wasteful to order only one $1.29 chip... ::sigh::

ok, tried numerous times to download the above listed file for making your own buffered JTAG. it will not download, and it is not a problem with my computer, have downloaded other files with no problems. also checked the download section with no success. can someone please send me a link on a schematic/instructions for building your own buffered JTAG?

Just wanted to know if a sd74AC245
OCTAL BUS TRANSCEIVER
WITH 3 STATE OUTPUTS (NON INVERTED)
Would also work?
Thanks
