Yes, there is a way to find your PW through the memory dump. However, each IRD model is different. The easiest solution here is to do a hard reset. Follow these steps, it will wipe out any forgotten PW. If you want to lock the channels again, you'll have to create a new PW.
Menu

Right Arrow
Left Arrow
the last 3 keys have to pressed within 5 seconds ... if done properly you will see the Device Status & Memory Dump Screen... while on this screen press the TV/VIDEO button on your remote ... ignore the 'Non Volitile' message that comes up ... simply unplug for 10 seconds ...

It's not the sys info button you need to press. It's the 'info' button.

Do the jy fix....learn how to mem dump later....
What??? JY fix???
tyke, if you follow the steps discribed above you will get to the mem dump. If you don't, keep trying. But as I said, it's the 'INFO' button. Not the 'SYS INFO'.

The PPV purchases are stored on the CAM, not on IRD. To clear them, you'd have to get the CAM unlocked.

when you get to the memory dump screen, scroll down to address 01C0 . 9th and 10th byte are password in reverse.

To add a bit of detail to axe3761..
IRD 2700 - Alternatively you can use the memory dump page to display a lost password. Scroll to line NVM 01C0.
Example: NVM 0001C0:0000000 00000000 34120000 00000000
The third set of numbers contains your password, the the number are in reversed pairs. Eg.if your password is 1234 they would read 3412.

Is there a lock on the 3100? But i don't think a memory dump will change the screen blanking out...I would use toadcode 17 or the temp avr fix...
