My HDTV JVC 6000RU rcvr has difficulty updating the guide, as well as the theme lists for movies, sports, etc. It frequently fails to get info, or gives and error followed by "re-aquiring signal". This is a bit annoying, but not the main problem. On occassion the unit simply resets itself. I've tried ROM 2,3,10 cards. The ROM 2 Cards have a greater frequency of these problems occuring, but at least the reacquisition of signal takes a lot less time. A friends unit experiences these same symptoms, but not the problems below...
Now, the big problem... On one occassion the unit reset itself, and continued to reset about every 8 seconds. (stuck in an endless loop) I tried everything.. unplugging, different card , etc. The next day it magically started working again... Any ideas - maybe a hardware problem with the relay?
On a second occasion after turning off the 6000 for the night, upon waking my wife was unable to turn it on in the morning (the receiver, not me!). No light flashing, card in, card out, unplug for a few hours, tried everything. There was definitly power to the cord and power board, just no lights/picture/sound. And of course magically it started working again two day later. Any ideas?
