Only an act marrys , if you are running a 3M it does sound like the IRD is bad ...

6 different cards will not work in this reciever. Keep getting 'insert valid access card' message. All 6 cards work fine in 3 different recivers. Have rebooted this reciever, nothign seems to get past th is message. Any ideas ?

It is quite possible that your card slot in your IRD is not making proper contact with your card. You may even have a bent contact pin stuck in the upward position. That would be my first guess...considering you have tried 6 different cards and have rebooted your IRD :)
