i have seen it before. reflashed the IRD and everything was back to normal.
I have a RCA model 222 that does the same thing. I have no idea why. It just turns off and restarts on a different channel; and it's rarely the same channel. Mine does it 1-4 times per week. Like I said, I have no idea why. I am just glad to hear that I am not the only one to suffer from this affliction. (In my case, I know for sure it is not a heat problem. There is nothing stacked on top of it and it's not in a rack or anything; although I haven't tried putting a fan by it either)

I have had a similar problem for awhile and don't have a clue why its doing it. I'm using a RCA DRD 221 with a 3M. (It did the same thing with a clone) The only time mine will do it is between 9:30P.M.-10:30p.m., and it always goes to channel 229.
FREAKY!!!!!
Check you timer settings?????

My 222 will shut itself off too. It was worse when I had all my components stacked. It's better in the rack sitting on the DVD player but still does it after playing DVD's. I think it's getting too warm. I've got a 485 on the way. Hopefully it's better........

I had a DRD420 with a similar problem, after doing the no zkt mod. If I would set the timer to tape a certain program the receiver would shut itself off after the program was done. It would only do it when the timer was involved. I ended up selling it to the nieghbor, so far I have not heard any complaints so maybe they don't use the timer function. It was the only one of the 10 receivers I've done that had this problem. Maybe I should have re-flashed it?

I have a 222 that does this. But it would happen as I was changing channels. I'd be changing channels, then all of the sudden it'd go from where I was (like ch. 502, for instance) all the way up to channel 1093! Of course nothing would come in, it would switch to "searching for sat signal" instead. I thought it was an undesired by-product of "testing".
We gain access by "glitching" into the card. Let's face it, we're not exactly using these cards in the way they were meant to be used.
