i assume you are using the correct flash wether it be single or dual chip. i know you have reflashed a few times and that sucks but you might have to once more. make sure the trace is cut and you have FP sent to ground after you flash. dont close the IRD up until you connect it to the TV. when you get the blue and whatever screen, use the little black knob on the silver box for TV IN connector and turn it until picture comes in perfect. check the motherboard thoroughly for excess solder also. use a flashlight

Banging on the unit and getting results usually means a broken solder joint, there is one chip U13101, close to the CPU, that is famous for that problem, remove the cover and press on that chips pins with a fingernail, you may find the problem there. If so then if you have a small tip soldering iron you can carefully reattach the pins to the solder pads...
