dead receiver

I have a receiver (rca mod. drd420re) not sure what gen that is, but I was watch tv and all of a sudden the rec just cut off for no reason...(no bad weather or anything)...I unplugged it and replugged it .It still will not turn on...It does'nt smell fried or anything...what could have happened and is there anything else I could do besides buying another..this one is'nt that old....

Probably lost a diode in the low side of the power supply, a very common thing with the 420's.........

Search for 420 power problems and you will find a lot of info here.....

i did what they call a junkyard fix and now my 3700 rec. will not even power up.can anyone help me out.thanks
