Also, there are some versions of NOZKT that are "nagless" and do not have the PCR20 in the message "Please Insert your card". Are you sure you don't have this latest version of the 420 NOZKT?
This may be side-tracking you. If you can get all the setup menus, etc., your load is probably OK. The message you get may be the result of the card switch on the back of the card holder. When your card in inserted, a switch on the back of the card holder is open and the microcode detects this. If you damaged the switch or wires when you fixed the diode (wherever that is?), you will get this message.

Could also mean that there is no 5V to pin 1 of the cardslot. Might want to check that also.
