IRD420>>UNwinked or Winked??

I just like to be sure about this issue, how do you know that your IRD (420) winked or unwinked?? is it by interactive menus only??

Has anyone by mistake using a wrong flash?? (using winked instead of unwinked flash) and what will happen???

once the flash is erased it is neither winked or unwinked, it's blank, you put back which ever you want.....
