Hey all....I live in Florida and have my Bell sub in Canada, I just bought a HD receiver and I've been trying to lock in the 82 sat using a 20" Dish 500 but can't get anything....I use a 30 inch dish to get 91. Do I need a bigger dish than the 20" to get nimiq 2?

Give up. Sorry to be the bearer of the bad news but you can get a 3m dish and still won't be seeing that bird. I am surprised if you get both even and odd transponders on the 91 one, if you do you must be a lot more North than I am. I tried a 1.5m dish and all I got is odd transponders on 91. I know a guy with a 3M one can;t get them either.

you need to change your latitude. the sat 82 footprint pretty much stops at the canadian border

I'm in Miami, I was using the big dish 1000 dish and I wasn't getting all the transponders on 91, then I bought a 75 cm dish and now I get 91 complete.... I found this picture of Nimiq 2 footprint and according to it south florida would need a 24" or bigger dish to get 82...?

like i said above the nimiq 4 sat 82 footprint does not go far below the canadian border. there is a small lobe that extends through the middle of the us but no where near florida.

you really need to see the footprint for yourself.
