Van Halen was great
Sammy Hagar was great Van Hagar sucked! Although I liked Dave much better, I did see them at monsters of rock shortly before they booted him, and he was a total ass on stage. You could tell the band members were getting really fed up with him. Dave kept stopping the show just so he could BS. It was frustrating as hell watching it. It's no wonder they dumped him. |

Well I used to have an old kramer, it did smoke. I got my Ibanez and ESP now, along with an ovation acoustic. Had a mid-level jackson in the mid 90's not to impressed, I guess you had to spend $700 or more to get the goods from jackson at the time. I think its the same with the fenders, got to spend the $$$ to get the upper end models. I think they bought jackson a few years back, which would explain why the quality of the new jacksons sucks, IMHO. What else ya playing Kramhair ???

my jacksons are mid '80's japenese axe's. after i set them up...intonation, truss rod...action...nothin' touch's them! I've got A frankenfuck....kicks ass! aria explorer body...active humbuckers....original floyd rose. and kramer parts layin' around...great to build kick ass guitars atta ! put EMG pick ups in 'em....push/pull pots....ahhhhhhhh Fender bought jackson...uncool. Dave Mustain tried to buy jackson...oh...shit. glad he couldn't afford it! I be workin' on A schector right now...good quality. I've only had one ibenhad....fair... |

Actually, the best electric I ever owned was a 1992 charvel fusion plus made in japan. I think I bought it from victor litz music center thru the mail, this was right after they changed to the spaghetti logo on the headstock. I had a very rare model with something called "active reflex" pickups. I have tried to find the exact model on the internet and have never come up with anything. I did read that they discontinued or raised the price on many of the japan made guitars because they were on par with the USA series and customs for 1/3 the price.
Fuck, I want my charvel back god damn it. Oh well back to reality. Hey crossmer, the ibanez play great but sound like shit. Gotta put in new pickups of your choice and rewire everything. Also, depending on the model you might need to drop in a new bridge or trem. Ghost, the duncan screamin demon is the George Lynch signature model, a'la Mr. Scary. I think that it debued in an ESP moded since that is mainly what he played at that time. Not sure if jackson used them in any models, but you are right, they rock. The dimebuckers are great, I think that I like em better than the active EMGs. |

my jacksons are dinky reverses'...mid 90's. rumour is, they were as good as the US models, or better. strike at the japenes factory or something. I worked on an ESP recently...no LTD logo just ESP. was good... I did A fret job on A vintage les paul...I was nervous..but confidentgibsons play...ah yeh...but...the jacksons I play have recessed floyd roses's jumbo frets(24 of them) compound radius fretboards...they Rule!!!they rule!! some of the ibanez axe's also...even the higher priced hamers, deans and schectors! hell yeh....kramhair out |
