My bet is that autoroll for Fortec will be out before Blackbird.
Fortec does have autoroll for Polsat. I think it has it for DN,
that's why when the keys change you get "Data being downloaded."
Only it's not quite working right just yet.

Epg

The autoroll will save us some headache if they decide to roll the key twice every week as before. But we still can get around with that.
Without the EPG (point to 119 and 110 bird) as right now is a disadvantage. Just my opinion, not crying for firmware fix. Hope there is a fix someday.

It is a real pain without the guide. I set up the channels to match the correct Dish numbers so it is now a little more bearable.

All u need to flash the receiver is a female to female cable (straight through) I got my lifetime receiver to work on dish and bell, guide could use some style though. As far as getting Ultra to work on bell and dish- good luck.LOL the ultras look like the lifetime but have a different chipset. And yes the E3 hole is closed so it can't get bell or dish. I'm lucky I was able to grab 3 fortec's before all this crap.

So there is a difference between the "Ultra" and the "Lifetime". I have seen "Ultra Lifetime" advertised on Ebay.... I'm a bit confused.

My ultimate goal is to get DISH with the least amount of trouble as I am not technically that good .

Fortec Lifetime

The Ultra model is a new one, to replace the Lifetime model in production.
The Lifetime model is discontinue by manufacturer. However, on March 2004, Fortec release the last batch of Lifetime model (called new Lifetime)

The only one works with al7bar firmware is the Lifetime. The older only. Not the one released on March 04. Someone said in the back of the newer Lifetime has the date stamp of March 2004. The older model does not have the date stamp.

Once you get the correct model, loading the firmware is quite easy. Much easy than re-flash Chuck's IRD.

Yeah just tried it and it works like a charm on the Ultra model as well, prices for these thing is going to go nutz. I must say that if ur not technically inclined then u should stick to DTV or get someone to program ur Dish system. If u don't know what ur doing then STOP.
