Can a DVR 501 be used with a Emu
Hi
I'm planning to buy a DVR 501 with a new access card. Can this system be used with a emulator setup? The card is a newer yellow type I believe. Do I need a access card which can be programmed at this time to work with a emulator? I've built a AVR3 Tuckers design and flashed it with irdtopc, also made a unbuffered JTag Is there any advantage to the emu board with the Max 232 & AT90S2313 chips? Thanks for any info! avst03 Last edited by avst03; 04-27-2004 at 08:25 AM.. |

No. No card is need to run emu. The Max-Mel interface board emits less signal than the AVR. Could be detected only within 6 ft range. |

Thanks for the reply karn.
Are there issues getting a DVR 501 working? If this IRD does get hit will it wipe out the hard disk and the TSOP? I was planning to build a Max&Mel type emu board and the Zappa nagless lock v4.1 Thanks avst03 |

To protect the recorded progams from the hard drive, an AR105-C lock is a good one. Search within the forum for that lock. The max-mel emu board emitted less 'interference' signal then the AVR. Don't know that the interference signal is a real threat as charlie claims. |

Lock
Thanks for the advice karn.
I ordered a AR105-C last night looks great compared to the locks I've looked at. |
